Alot of people overboard because I get a love your car, great looking car etc. comment daily. If you bought a car just because of the suicide doors without checking the power, interior etc. like i said your not a very good car shopper. Not sure what you mean by too feminine but your in the minority from what i can tell of the head turns and comments the 8 gets. I don't mind the Z but it would have been a chioce behind the 8 and the S2000.

OK, the car was a '70 I found a press release. Seems to have been the first year. I remember ONLY burnt orange that year. 2.4 liter 150hp. Cheesy vinyl black interior. Great idea. I don't know, but when I drive a Mustang, I don't get that thing-that feel that these cars give you. I have twin girls, going to be born in a few weeks. I am going to teach them how to drive. What a great gift. I n driving I'm going to teach them about that thing. I hope there are still rotarys around.

Sorry about turning on the Way Back Machine.

I like the Z. I almost bought a Z.

Until I drove it. My Camaro at the time handled just as well, had alot more power, had better ride quality and stock stereo system, and in my opinion the interiors were very comparable in overall asthetics and quality. In the end I decided to go with something different. I couldn't see paying $30,000 for something I already had.

I wouldn't call it the best thing under 30 grand (All the ones I priced came to $30k+ with options anyway). The best rwd 2 seater under 30 grand I guess. Too many categories for me to make such a blanket statement. All in all, however, it is a very nice machine if you're not expecting too much in the interior and ride quality departments.

Please note that I did not say that the Z was inferior to the 8 or the Camaro.

I'm sorry, but you're an idiot.

I love the Z and the 8, and I think bashing either car is stupid. But the oh and the z/g car was given car of the year....was the 8?NOPE line? Please.

The 8 was voted 10 Best by Car and Driver twice in a row. Was the Z/G? No. The 8 wins most magazine comparisons to the 350Z/G35. If you want to use 3rd party reviews/ratings/awards, then I think you probably lose. From what I've seen the 8 wins a majority of the nods from magazines. Not all of them or even a great majority, but the majority. Does that mean the 8 is a superior car to the Z?

No it doesn't. I just means a lot of the reviewers liked driving the 8 more than the Z. If you read the reviews they all say the 8 is slower than the 350Z or the G35 and just doesn't have the power those cars do. No one is disputing that. Both those cars are a bit faster than the 8. But they're not so much faster meaning that just being a better driver in an 8 will allow you to win vs Zs and G35s. It just felt more nimble and comfortable for the reviewers and that's why they chose it; not because of pure performance.

Sheesh. And the thing a lot of people fail to realize including you is people have different criteria for what they want from their cars. The Z is the best car you can get for under 30 grand? Not even close if you want comfort. Is the 8 the best car you can get for under 30 grand? Nope, not if you want power or fuel economy. Is the Z the best car you can get for under 30 grand if all you want is performance? I dunno... a friend of mine got his STi for under 30 grand (he got his for 28) and it's much better than the Z performance wise.

The Z is likely the best car for YOU under 30 grand. That's not true for a lot of other people. I don't really see what's so difficult to understand about that concept. "Different people value different things."

THe reason I got rid of my Z is. THe HID's kinda sucked, could never hear the radip when windows were up, stereo sucked, small, and the paint that Nissan uses on almost all there cars suck. There are a lot of things I dont like about the 8 as well though. But I really like both cars. But the Z's are now as often seen as neons and mustangs, but same goes for the WRX now too and so the 8 will probably be more seen soon as well.

Oh well dont know where I was going with all that.

Quit displaying your ignorance. The RX-8 has excellent speed-sensitive steering. Nice and light for parking, nice and stiff at speed, with appropriate scaling in between.

No thanks, I like my licence and insurance. Until I need to spend time at those speeds regularly, the theoretical top end is irrelevant to me. By the way, the RX-8 has no speed limiter - some members here have dynoed it to 186 MPH.

I don't know why but every Z owner I've met thus far has been a total douchebag, but I'm not sure what that has to do with this thread

This thread is just stupid, they're both nice cars with their pluses and minuses. I don't know why people can't just accept that and move on rather than turning things into a pissing contest and flinging insults. Sure, debate the differences between the cars and why you like one better than the other, but not this crap...

Performance, looks, price and everything else aside...

There are too many damn 350Z's on the road. Tough to be unique when you see somebody else driving your car 20 times a day.

There will be plenty of both on the road in a year or so, the Z just had a headstart and sells a little better. I've never seen 20 Zs a week let alone 20 a day.

No. it's not like a Honda Accord or anything but there are a helluva lot of them on the roads in NorCal. Much more than the RX-8 at least...for now. In an office building of less than 200 people we have 3 in our parking lot.

Excellent, Cas.

Unfortunately though, given the true nature of trolls, I don't think he'll get it. Not totally unexpected.

Cas, he may be a douche but he's right about the speed though. No matter what your cute little file says, stock Zs are capable of 13.7s and they are a good amount faster than the RX-8.

1. why even buy the car for your wife if you hate it that much, what, do you hate your wife too?
2. quit crying because you only can seat 2 people, the sad thing is the 8 can seat 4 and still whips *** around a track, as does the EVO, are you saying the EVo is garbage too? do you ever "call out " EVO owners in your z?
3. why even bother posting here in the first place? honestly, calling people names? well you know what, you're ugly and your mother dresses you funny, plus the Z has the ugliest funking door handles ever, what were they thinking?
4. no body on here has ever said the 8 was the fastest car in the world or whatever, and just because something is faster doesn't make it better, cars are subjective, what's best for you isn't going to be best for me, or anyone for that matter judging from your behavior :D

It's funny you said that, I was in the car yesterday and we pulled up to a Z and my dad said those are some tacky/ugly looking door handles.

seriously, I love the Z, I've always loved them and all the previous gens, much like all the different "RX" cars. When they slapped those things on there it was like being kicked in the face, could you imagine how awful the 8 would look if it had those giant chuncks sticking off of it? That's probably why the car feels so heavy to people, shave the handles and you probably lose a couple hundred pounds :D
