That's a little lower than I would expect/hope to get from an MT 8 but not too far off. I think 180-190 isn't too far fetched for a healthy 8.
The torque is a bigger difference. It looks to have a higher peak torque and lower at lower rpms. Knowing peak numbers is fun and all... but a graph would have been WAY more useful to see.

I dont really care whose name is on it. If it meets my needs and has the looks and performance I want, I don't care about the name on it. I definitely don't like scions, but that's because I haven't been a fan of the products or their advertising. If they produce a quality car that suits what I'm looking for, I wont just rule it out because of a name.

I guarantee the FRS has much smaller gearbox and differential than the 8 much more akin the those in the MX-5, hence some of the other parts in the equation of hp and torque comparisons at a chassis dyno between the RX-8 and FRS.
I think I should put a renesis in an FRS .

With similar HP and acceleration as the RX-8, it's nice to see MPG ratings up to 25city/34hwy. I never broke 20mpg in my 8, even with the most conservative highway driving. It's going to be hard to beat the driving experience of an 8, but reviews are looking promising...

I think some of the reviews pointed out that the 0-60 took longer than anticipated because 2nd gear topped out at 59mph and they had to shift to 3rd. The quarter mile times more or less match the RX-8's...
