The first time I read about the bike it had won an art award.

Thanks Japan8. I love it. Very simple and easy to maintain. My Buell's got the torque and the RX8 has the horsepower...I'm happy. :D

They also love buying the biggest bike they can afford. Partially due to the licensing system, no one really rides 600cc bikes except women and short men. Everyone else rides a liter bike or 1100 - 1300cc bike (Hyabusa, ZX-12, etc.). What some sales guy told me about V-twins like the RC51 was that they are just too wide for the average Japanese rider... only the big guys can get on one and touch the ground comfortably. You've got me if that's true or not...
Japan8, you're all right in my book. BTW, since you mentioned it, one of the reasons I love my Duck is because the seat height is 780mm only...most Japanese sportbikes are 820mm and higher. Since I'm 5'6", this bike suits me perfectly.

I like the sound of Buell's too being that they are also V-twins. Something about those HD motors I guess.

I love the MV's. Believe me when I tell you how long and hard I stared at the F4 1000 when I bought my bike since the dealer I bought it from sells all Italian bikes. However, the $10K I would have had to spend to buy it just didn't fly to well with the missus. One of the most beautiful street bikes I know though is the MV Brutale. I did consider getting that as well as the price was more comparable to my Duck, but I like having fairings and a windscreen. Maybe someday, I can convince the wifey for a 2nd bike.

I used to only ride Japanese bikes. My last one was a Kawi ZX7R but now I'm addicted to V-twins and that sound. I also like the new KTM Superduke...very nice:

I know it's not a V-twin but just wait til Ducati releases the desmosedeci RR slated for 2006. MotoGP technology for a street bike. It's time to start saving your money boys, as that ones expected to cost 50,000 euro. Now I don't know what that is in dollars, but it sures sounds like a lot. (;
