i agree that it does look like a ford focus, IMO the old STi looked better, more agressive. i'm not a fan of the new ones, but i might change my mind when i see one in person.

Horrid styling. A jumble of lumps thrown together. It's as if Subaru were intent on building ugly cars.

I like it too. The only thing i don't care for is the transition from the front fenders to the side skirt area. It makes the car look too long (probably longer than it is). Sure, it's not as agressive as the EVO, and it is a hatch, but I kinda liked the Sportback concept better than the EVO X as it currently is.
You know, this thing:

Nope, I really like it too. Can't wait to test drive 'em. The local dealership here already has 15 on order.

I love that car. Asuming all other aspects even out between the new STI and Evo, that car would have been the clear cut choice between the two. However, I love the fender flares of the new STI and the utility of a hatch is something I really like so it's certainly in the running.

Sadly, I think it's only going to be available in the pearly white and not the aspen white like my WRX and the previous STI. At least no other Impreza is available in the aspen white and Subaru may have even discontinued the color altogether.

my thoughts when I look at the rear pic of the STi....

meets

mind you it's not every specific detail, but it reminds me a lot of the 2... bmw being the influence on the side with the rx being the rear influence.

From some angles its not bad and from others it is. The tailights are pretty bad but could easily be fixed. You can have a hatch that lookes good; Mazda 6 hatch, Evo Sportback concept, Z4 Coupe, Audi TT, Cayman all hatches and look great. Rabbit/Golf/Gti..., Mazda 3, A3, Impreza just look boring IMO.

I'm betting the one thingthe STI will have going for it is price compared to the Evo and the 135. Still beting an Evo MR is going to come in around 38k, for that much I'm heading to BMW.
