FIA adapts 2013 regs, cancels 2014 bodywork changes
The final 2012 meeting of the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) took place today, 5 December, in Istanbul. At the meeting, a number of F1 regulation amendments were agreed, including rule changes for 2013 and cancelling all aerodynamic regulations changes that were planned for 2014.
Shouldn't that have been titled "adopts", or is that a european english thing?

Adopts means copy. Adapt means change.
For example, button decided to adopt Hamilton's setup but he had to adapt for the oversteer on the car.

The promoters of Formula 2 have decided not to run the series in 2013 after completing just four years of their five-year contract with the FIA.
The one-make series was launched in its current form in 2009 by MotorSport Vision (MSV) as a low-cost alternative to other feeder series. However, after four years of competition, MSV chief executive Jonathan Palmer said the series would not continue in 2013.

McLaren fielded the consistently fastest car in 2012, an analysis has shown.
According to the German language Speed Week, although Red Bull and Ferrari ended up fighting for the title, it was McLaren with the consistently faster car, based on an averaging of race laps throughout the 20-Grand Prix season.
Based on all the fastest race laps this year, McLaren was just 1.8 tenths from perfection, the report claimed.
Champions Red Bull came in second with an average of 3.8 tenths off the best, followed by Lotus, at seven tenths.
Ferrari was just fourth, with an average deficit of 7.5 tenths.
"It means Fernando Alonso almost became champion with the fourth-fastest car," the report read.

Red Bull is open to the idea of Austria hosting a Formula 1 race next year at its revamped Spielberg track.
The energy drinks company has overhauled the venue, now known as the Red Bull Ring, and its motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has revealed that he has been in touch with the FIA to make it aware of the opportunity available.
The FIA announced earlier this week that a European F1 race would be held on July 21 next year at an unspecified venue - with France and Turkey the favourites to secure the spot.
