Okay. Not the best pit stops from anyone. Hamilton seemed to have a problem getting into first gear. Then Grosjean had a similar slow stop from second spot. He has switched over to another set of softs meaning he must stop again and he is currently lapping as much as .7 quicker than Hamilton. Schumacher is having the worst day beginning with a stall on the grid and then a penalty for speeding in the pits.

Also, Button muscled his way past Vettel for 3rd spot at the beginning and after their respective pit stops Vettel is turning up the pressure on him.

McLaren chose to switch to what they called 'plan B' for both drivers which meant 2 stops instead of 1. Unfortunately for Button he came out behind Senna who he was unable to pass and Vettel regained position when he pitted.

Raikkonen just shoved Grosjean after his pit stop. They are officially racing each other. Very cool.

Maldanado just bumped DiResta but without a wreck. I would be surprised if there is no penalty.

Great race! Alonso, Vettel, Grosjean, Kimi, Hamilton, all did amazing stuff.

Where is everyone? Don't tell me you all are watching the Olympics?

For some reason, this race just didn't excite me. It was good for Lotus. They did as well as they could without an outright win.

Bernie Ecclestone is beginning to make me think of Mr Burns from the Simpsons with a seemingly insatiable greed and cold, heartless style. Yuck! How does he sleep at night and how does he look in the mirror in the day time?

I bet they're afraid of taking it back from him...
He knows the president... and Bernie is just rich but politically hated. His head would be an easy target rofl.

Besides... i really like Pastor!

Pastor has talent but acts like he is in a lesser form of racing (Bumping people). His communication skills are SO lacking as well. He is the opposite of Alonso (The complete driver). I must add that I never liked how cut throat Alonso can be to get his way and back stabbing too but, the boy can drive and express himself in a press conference.

Maybe Maldanado will mature into the complete package. Maybe not.

I agree with you but at least maldy makes watching f1 fun. "Who will it take out today?".

Alonso is the kind of person I would be afraid to have as an enemy

Hamilton wants his trophies
Lewis Hamilton has reiterated that if McLaren want to keep him next season than he wants to keep his trophies.

As part of McLaren's tradition, the team holds onto all the trophies won while issuing replicas to the drivers.

Hamilton, though, wants the real deal.

"(McLaren executive chairman) Ron (Dennis) and the team have all the trophies in the cabinet and the drivers get replicas," said the 27-year-old.

"In a lot of other teams, the drivers get their original trophies.

Formula 1's mid-season test dropped for 2013
Formula 1 teams have abandoned the idea of a extra mid-season test in 2013, after agreeing plans for just three pre-season tests next year.

Technical chiefs learned that the three tests before the start of the 2012 campaign gave them enough mileage to be prepared for the first race, so teams have decided that there is no need for a fourth week of running as had happened previously.

Only 32 days until the next race at Spa. Damn the August shutdown.

good race. Hamilton sure was on form. I think if Raikkonen's KERS had been 100% he would have given Hamilton a much bigger challenge.

Domenicali hints Ferrari seeking 'number 2' driver
Stefano Domenicali has warned that Ferrari is only on the market for a number two driver.

With the 2013 option on Felipe Massa's contract running out last week, a large number of drivers have been linked to his seat for next season.

Reportedly the latest on the list is the team's 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen.

Factory shutdown: Summer break underway
August has brought us memorable F1 races in past years, but since 2009 the teams have agreed to shut all of their factories for a fortnight. Some doors are already closed whereas others are about to be, with no design or manufacturing allowed.

Oh, I bet the engineers have taken their laptops with them and are even conferencing to some extent. Too much money to be lost by relaxing
