Lots of overtakes... but with these tyres the races look fake, almost like a reality show.

If we could only get more durable tires I believe the bravest drivers would show what separates them from the rest with super late braking and death defying overtaking in tough corners.

Paul.

In other terms, people being taken out of the race. I think a lesser tire highlights the better car and driver. You may go slower, but you have to work harder to get everything out of the car.

I am really enjoying this season. It is great to have a competition going on out there where anyone car win, the last few seasons have been a one horse race. This year who know who is going to come out on top.

It's not a compound issue, it's a tyre life one. You can have crappy tyres but they can't degrade in 5 laps. Drivers can't drive to the limit to preserve tyres... that's bullshit. I miss the days when they ran used front softs and rear new ones... oh and refuelling.

What? in 2010 there were 4 drivers that could become world champions in the last race it was still a crappy season though

I agree. By seeing their pace they're on par with alonso's ferrari so it would be interesting to see them battle, wear out the tyres and hand kimi the victory.
Ferrari suffers mechanical grip, almost the only thing you need at the next gp. That's going to be fun.

Williams working to determine cause of fire, FIA says 31 people treated in total
The Williams team is working with the fire services and the police to determine the root cause of the fire that broke out after the Spanish Grand Prix.

Williams said the fire, which erupted some 90 minutes after the team had won its first race since 2004, had originated from the fuel area.

'Rambo' Schumacher punished after Senna crash
Michael Schumacher will start next Sunday's Monaco grand prix five places lower than he qualifies.

Despite the furious seven time world champion moaning "idiot" on the radio after the incident, stewards found him guilty of causing the rear-end crash with Williams' Bruno Senna.

"It was clearly Michael's fault," triple world champion Niki Lauda told Bild newspaper, whose headline slammed 'Rambo Schumi'.

That accident was the rule's fault. Drivers should be able to defend their position however they want.

Williams 'astonished' by Maldonado
Sir Frank Williams admitted that he was "astonished" by Pastor Maldonado's performance during the Spanish Grand Prix.

Maldonado gave Williams its first victory in eight years in Barcelona, converting pole position in to a win despite losing out to Fernando Alonso off the line. It was a hugely impressive display of talent from Maldonado - who had previously been labelled a pay-driver - and although Williams admitted money had got him the seat in the first place he said that he never doubted his racing credentials.

Massa to be replaced at Ferrari?
The rumour mill around Felipe Massa's future with Ferrari has reached a high this weekend in the Spanish paddock. After yet another bad result (15th place while team mate Alonso finished 2nd), there are quite some rumours that the Brazilian will be replaced soon.

Whenever there's a rumour of a driver being forced to leave a team, of course, another rumour about who will replace him starts. The paddock was buzzing with possible replacements for Massa: Sergio Pèrez, Paul di Resta, Jérôme d'Ambrosio and even the retired Rubens Barrichello were named.

If any of the rumours are true, we'll see in the following weeks.

I predict it will happen before the August break and it will be Perez.

Formula One opportunity could be knocking for rising American star Conor Daly

Expect a formal announcement early Wednesday about American race car driver Conor Daly's motorsports future. Sources in Indiana, where Daly is from, confirmed that the announcement will regard a deal that Daly, 20, has signed with a well-regarded Formula One team.

This puts two American drivers on the fast track to a Formula One career, including Daly, son of former Formula One driver Derek Daly, and Alexander Rossi, the 20-year-old, California-born open wheel driver who is signed as a test driver for the Caterham F1 team, and who has been competing in the Formula Renault series.

What is the best way to watch live coverage of F1 racing.
Here in Ontario Canada we only get TSN coverage, which is poor at best, there is no pre race coverage and the drivers interview in english only, then feed is cut off and don't get to hear drivers remarks in the own language.
I do get Speeds coverage of practise which is great, but it is a blocked channel for qualifing and the race itself which sucks because I do pay for Speed in my service provider.
Sometimes Speed will replay the race at a later time and date which I can watch, but like most F1 fans I like to watch live coverage

Can't you use the BBC iPlayer and stream it on the computer? You have to play tricks to do it in the States. That is how moRotorMotor watches the race. PM him if you have problems. He's from Newfoundland.

I was able to use the BBC iPlayer for the last few years through UK proxies. This year, the coverage of F1 is split between BBC and SKY and BBC is no longer offering it on their iPlayer or only several races. I can't confirm if that is the case. Are you guys in the US able to get it? SKY is offering a similar service on their version of the iPlayer, but for a fee, and even then, I don't know if it would be available outside the UK. I have only been able to watch this year's coverage on TSN, via PVR on Bell TV. It is still the BBC's coverage, albeit with commercials and lack of FP1 and 2 coverage.

We get P2, Qual & Race on Speed. dezau has iPlayer working on his computer. bse50 streams the races on his computer from another service. I don't know if his service is region restricted.

When I browse for F1 on iPlayer, all I see is the BBC Radio coverage and I think the recap of each race. I wonder how Desmond is able to watch it on iPlayer or whether I am seeing the same selection on iPlayer as he is.

It's actually a different player. Mine's not the official BBC iPlayer, it's a program which does the proxy work for u. It's close to 720p but then again, there isn't any similar program that does the same thing for Sky F1 channel.

'Di Resta is on our radar' – Mercedes' Fry
Nick Fry, Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes, has admitted that current Force India driver Paul di Resta is on the team's list as a replacement for Michael Schumacher.

The 26-year-old Scot, who rose to Formula 1 after his DTM title success of 2010, has long been linked with the Mercedes brand, while the aforementioned Schumacher has struggled to make an impact since his return to the sport in the same year.

"Of course Paul's on our radar," Fry told Sky Sports News. "He's done a fantastic job, he's a nice guy, he's great team player and he would be one of the drivers undoubtedly that, if Michael were to decide he didn't want to continue, we would look at.

Renault and Mercedes urge F1 to stick to V6 turbo plan
Mercedes and Renault have warned against delaying the introduction of Formula One's new engine regulations beyond 2014, amid suggestions that the extra expense could stretch the budgets of smaller teams too far.

Formula One is set to switch from the current 2.4-litre naturally aspirated V8s to 1.6-litre turbo charged V6s in two years' time. The original plan was to introduce four cylinder turbo engines in 2013, but it was altered and postponed a year following concerns about the sound and image of the sport.
