It is typical of Ferrari fans to act like that. Ignoring evidence that is inconvenient for them and trying to make up lies when they have lost. (The lie obviously being that some Ferrari fans, no names mentioned, actually are deluded enough to believe that Glock let Hamilton pass on purpose in the last race in 2008)

Since they are so stuck on their "facts" there really is no discussion to be had with them since they will bend everything to their point of view or bitch and whine when that is not possible

Fact #1: Vettel qualified fastest of all.
Fact #2: Alonso made an attempt to attack and overheated and had to pull back.
Fact #3: Vettel lost position due to a broken exhaust.

Otherwise Vettel would have finished first and Ferrari second and third.

I will honestly admit that the two top teams are Red Bull and Ferrari. Then we have McLaren and Mercedes (suffering from lack of downforce and balance issues). And then comes the rest of the pack.

Another interesting trivia is that the Ferrari car always works well on Bahrain. It could be similarities in characteristics between Bahrain and the Ferrari test circuit, I don't know. The thing is though that the Ferrari pace on Bahrain is often higher than its average race pace through the season.

No my bets are on Vettel and Red Bull for now, and I am also cheering for Hamilton. Of course

Go forth Red Bull and McLaren and beat those red crap cars!!!!

Typical Hamilton fanboy...

Stop living in the "what if" and live in the "what is"... Yes Ferrari benefited from the broken exhaust and so did your Hamilton... so no point going there...and we are not ignoring any evidence.. reliability is as important as consistency... Who cares if he qualified first if the car could not withstand the pace?

It will be a long season but I know Ferrari is on the top (as a team) compared to all other teams...

So stop whining and salute to Ferrari... You got owned... and yes, your turn will come... and I will accept if that is the case unlike the crying I see here.

Carlos
ps. And yes, I am one of the fans that strongly believe Glock let Hamilton pass in the last corner.

We WILL be World Champions... You'll see...remember this post... Post # 398 !!

Alonso + Massa + Ferrari > everybody else!!!

And thanks Renesis... I wanted to send Alfy and the Hamilton fanboys a box of these as well...

Ands boys, don't be lame... Learn to lose like REAL MEN... Don't give me this BS... "muah muah... the race was boring"... You guys were OWNED today and I can't wait for more...

Carlos GO FERRARI!!!
ps. I do admit the race was boring and I hope, for the sake of F1, the FIA does something about it, maybe even implementing a mandatory 3 tire changes since refueling will not be an option. There I said it.

LOL bravo , bravo. I am honored to take this box of Kleenex. This box has so much history.
2007- this box was used a lot this year, by Alonso fans. It was the year, that a rookie teammate, out drove the Star of the team, Also the year that Alonso cried the most. So this box of Kleenex came in handy that year

2008- This was the year that Alonso fans, got the see the same rookie that out drove their loved Alonso the previous year , become the world championship.
Also the same year, we got to see Alonso first win, due to his team fixing the race for victory. So Alonso fans, where full of happy tears.
2009-....
2010- Is the year , that alonso fans get to see their beloved alonso win a race, due to a mechanical failure by a more newbie driver. A newbie driver that held the Vet (Alonso) for about 95% of the race. Alonso kept trying and trying, but was not able to overtake this newbie driver. Until the gods answered Alonso fans, the gods struck the newbie car with a curse. A curse so hurting, that their beloved Alonso, was finally able to overcome the newbie. Not by skill, but by the prayers answered by the Gods. The fans of Alonso jumped for joy, they were dancing in the in streets, full of lust etc. They were blinded by their high, they actually thought that Alonso won by skill. They soon forgot that the reason why their beloved Alonso won, was not by skill, but the prayers to the gods. Their high made them so delusional.

I as a Hamilton fan wished Hamilton made 4th place. As a fan of Hamilton, I prefer him to be on the Podium due to skill, not because of a freebies. I don’t take pride for mechanical failures.

But bravo Alonso fans, you make us very proud , with your delusional ways.

lmao, once again ALonso fans are so delusional. For starters, i guess you forgot 2 races before, where hamilton and glock were head to head. which caused glock to be wiped out. I guess glock being so pissed off at hamilton, he gave the last race to him. I guess him being on dry tires, were every one else pitted in 5 laps before the race to get wets. guess that doesnt mean anything to you.

LOL typical alonso fans, always so delusional

While Polo thought the race was so exciting, the rest of us in the real world, found the race to be a major bore fest.

As the F1 circus is dismantled in Bahrain on Sunday night, talks are already underway to address the sport's new problem.

The debut of the refuelling ban is now the subject of harsh criticism, after some observers slammed a less than exciting 49 tours of the Sakhir circuit.

"The race is quite straightforward. You start on heavy fuel, you do one stop and then you ... it's pretty much a train the whole way," said Lewis Hamilton, who finished third.

Worse still in Bahrain is that the first and only pitstops took place very early in the race because the leading cars all qualified on Bridgestone's faster soft tyre.

For fear of this very consequence, some teams pushed in the pre-season period for a second pitstop to be mandatory, but the proposal was voted down.

"I think we have to re-examine that," FOTA chairman Martin Whitmarsh said on BBC television after the race.

Another solution is in Bridgestone's hands, with the problem exacerbated this weekend because the most suitable qualifying tyre was still good enough to take the leading cars to an acceptable single pitstop window.

The result was that most of the race strategies were the same.

"Today was not the best show, we know that and we have all got to work together to improve it," added Whitmarsh.

http://www.worldcarfans.com/11003142...second-pitstop

Stefano Domenicali on Sunday has urged caution amid suggestions the sport needs to react immediately to a new crisis.

After a mainly processional beginning to F1's new no-refuelling era in Bahrain, FOTA chairman Martin Whitmarsh said the teams should consider mandating a second pitstop per driver.

It is also suggested that Bridgestone's selection of tyres could help contribute to making less processional races now that the strategy options are so limited.

Drivers including Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton warned after the Sakhir race that other events this year could follow a similar pattern to Sunday's processional opener.

And race winner Fernando Alonso added: "The qualifying and the starts are maybe the two key points this year.

"After the first corner more or less the positions will be settled," said the Spaniard.

But his Ferrari team boss Domenicali replied: "We should wait. I can understand his (Alonso's) opinion, but let's first wait and see how the races develop.

"There could be other situations so I would only want to give my opinion after a few races. We should wait to see a few more scenarios before we make a judgement about the way it really is," added the Italian.

Michael Schumacher does not believe F1's new no-refuelling era is going to spice up the sport.

The German, who completed his F1 return in Bahrain by finishing in sixth place behind his teammate Nico Rosberg, believes the 49-lap race was an indication of how the 2010 season is going to unfold.

"It's the start and then just sort of 'go your pace' and not do mistakes," the seven time world champion told the BBC.

"Overtaking is basically impossible, other than if somebody makes a mistake -- that's the action we are going to have with unfortunately this kind of environment of race strategy," Schumacher added.

Lewis Hamilton, who finished third, said the new format - where drivers start the race carrying a huge fuel load and look after the tyres - had made his race slightly frustrating.

"It definitely didn't make the racing more exciting in terms of overtaking. I wasn't able to follow in the first third of the circuit.

"But it is an interesting season ahead of us. Everyone is learning how to use tyres more -- try to understand the tyres, conserve the fuel load, when to attack and not to attack," added the Briton.

Quadruple world champion and Bahrain steward Alain Prost believes F1 will benefit from the refuelling ban, which was last in place when he won his final title in 1993.

"The drivers have never experimented with that before, so they are a bit confused, even the teams," said the Frenchman.

"They need to get used to it. It may take some races but it will be better."

Indeed, Jenson Button acknowledged that he had nursed one of his sets of tyres too much, while Felipe Massa said he was forced to conserve fuel for 30 laps.

Prost is confident the current generation of drivers will adjust.

"They have got used to a sprint -- in free practice, qualifying, race. And having 60kg of fuel or 10kg makes no difference," he said.

"When you start with 160kg you have to think differently, and they are not used to that," said the 55-year-old.

"After a few races, I am sure the good drivers, the top drivers, will like it."

Fellow grand prix veteran David Coulthard agreed that F1's new formula needs "time to settle down".

I never said the race was exciting and I never will... It was BORING as hell and I said it clearly in my previous post... Heck I watched the race in 45 minutes... Gotta love DVR However this does not take the enjoyment of seeing Alonso where he belongs...

Now Alfy.... do this to Alonso... your ONLY master...

This is the best thread ever, as usual
Anyway kubica did a pretty good overtake on the outside, that's just it.
Alonso showed to be pretty aggressive and that's good, Massa keeps up with a good constant pace.
Hamilton did ok, a bit below his average if we consider the aerodynamical advantages of his car's scoop but he still drives like a champ.

Schumacher is a mid pack driver for what we know... car or driver's fault?

For 2009 the box was used repeatedly by Ferrari fans since they did not manage even third place in the constructors.

Luca Badoer used the tissue box after media coverage.

Fisicella used the tissue box after being forced to leave a good car behind for one of the suckier cars in the field, and also for destroying his F1 career by becoming a test driver for Ferrari instead of a regular driver for another team.

2009 was a good year for the tissue box.

Schumacher kept up with Rosberg in the first race after a 3 year absence. That is quite the strong performance. Besides the car is too weak at the moment. At least on this track...

So give it 3 more races and we will see Schumacher growing into the role of one of the greatest again. At least I hope so for his sake, and ours since we want a good show.

Since the front is so boring, I'm going to root for SENNA to finish the Australian race.

Very true. Almost eerie resemblance.

Congrats to Ferrari and Alonso in particular on a fantastic first performance. Vettel was brilliant all weekend and Massa was great as well. My hero Lewis and his team need to continue to develop their cars, as does the Mercedes team. How good is Rosberg? Is he better than Schumi or was this a fluke? I think the heavy cars and smaller front tires work against the style of a driver like Lewis and maybe Michael as well who like to brake quite late. Will the Red Bull chassis be reliable? I think Jenson will get 'owned' the majority of the season; that's my prediction.

Paul.

WHy are Ferrari fans acting like a bunch of babies. MS gave them like 6 championships? They should at least, let him help his fellow country car company start off on their own in F1. Are they that butt hurt over this whole MS at Cedes.

The Italian press has poured scorn on Michael Schumacher's return to formula one.

The 41-year-old German, whose previous race had been at the wheel of a Ferrari in 2006, managed sixth place in Bahrain after being outpaced all weekend by his young Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg.

Large elements of Italy saw Schumacher's decision to return with a rival team as an act of deceit, and the Genoa-based Il Secolo XIX newspaper now crowns him the "world champion of arrogance".

La Gazzetta dello Sport joked that the German failed to turn up in the island Kingdom, and Corriere della Sera said the anonymous performance had been a "strange Sunday afternoon for Herr Michael".

But Schumacher himself said he was happy with his comeback, and Mercedes' chief executive Nick Fry insisted that the team's new driver had finished the event "in great spirits" and excellent physical shape.

"All in all I have to say I am very, very happy and proud about how it went, considering I was completely out for three years and did not have a lot of driving for preparation," Schumacher told his official website on Monday.

Senna looks JUST like Ayrton, the way he flipped up his visor and walked out from the smoking HRT machine, and his eyes.

I really want him to do well, and be able to stay in F1, he'd be a much better driver to cheer for than say........... nvm!!!

Alonso just released an interview to the italian media stating that he dislikes this f1 since it's basically just about marketing and not about being the best series anymore.
His main concern was safety, especially because the last 30mins of the melbourne race will be at dawn with the sun in their eyes. The federation ignored they proposal of anticipating it etc, etc, etc.

He may be a douche bag but at least likes what the sport used to be and not what it is, just like us.

I'm glad to see his interest in safety. Driving a machine like those with the sun in your eyes can be murder; literally.

I know, and especially when they start doing things for just crowd interest rather than trying to make the racing better.

I for one gladly go up at 5 in the morning to watch an F1 race. If it is in Australia it is more feeling to get up in the morning. You really feel like you are out of your timezone. Bleah on twilight races!
