Yeah, watching it now.
I hadn't opened the thread, but forgot to make General Automotive not show on Live! until after I'd seen it, and lesper's comment popped up while I had an eye on Live

yeah, NASCAR is running there this weekend as well, so the Grand-Am days were Thurs/Fri
Plenty of races through the year are on saturdays as well. I subscribe to the event alert email that usually goes out at least a day in advance in case it slips my mind. My cable carrier doesn't label the races anything special, they are all "auto racing", along with a million other race types, so can't just flag them all to record.

Good race, nice to see SpeedSource get a good finish. My thoughts on Grand-am at Indy are conflicted though. On one hand, loved it in my hometown and watching them in the banking (going the wrong direction) is amazing to witness. On the other side, pairing it with Nascar ruined the open fan friendly atmosphere I love. IMS isn't used to fans actually being allowed around drivers/cars/haulers and the yellow shirts (track helpers) seemed to struggle with that. It was also difficult to find a nice spot to watch the race, a lot of time was spent wandering around looking for a good view.
Overall not a bad day but could have been so much better. Really hope Indy learns from this first year event.

In the past 2 yrs, GA has been relegated by NASCAR to being a support race for their prime and even 2nd tier racing series. GrandAm can stand on it's own on the road courses and should be the feature Sunday race rather than a also ran Saturday or in this case a Friday event.
Agreed rx8speeddmon. It's one of the reasons that my wife and I decided against making the trip to Indy. One hand would have been nice to be there for the first Grand Am race, but I realized that NASCAR being there would lock it down quite a bit.
Looking at the entry list for Sat. race at the Glen (6pm on SPEED) and NO TRG P-cars listed?? #43 RX8 was 2nd in practice this morning btw in GT. Qualifying is 6 to 6:15pm today for GT.
Five RX8's in the GT field out of only 16 entries- I like our odds. Where would Grand Am be without them??? Speaking of Grand Am, since Indy it"s been kind of a soap opera off the track btw. Let's call it " TrackDays of our Lives". Here we go- Enzo Potolicchio quit Grand AM after the incidents at Indy involving JPMontoya punting a Starworks DP, an Action Express DP, and the 01 punting a Stevenson Camaro and nothing was done by Grand Am officals. "Gannassi favoritism" seems to be the chant. So now Starworks needs a driver, in steps guess who- Jordan Taylor (big surprise). Now all you'll hear about Sat. is brother vs. brother. As for Kevin B. well a couple of races ago he was whining about the #69 458 Ferrari . Well at Indy with 6 min to go J. Bom. in the #70 passes the 59 Brumos to move into 2nd and a TRG P-car tried the same move but got punted into the marbles. One P-car punting another PRICELESS. Unfortunitly that brought out the YELLOW which the race ended on. So Magnus wins, Speedsource is 2nd, and I lose $20 to a couple of P-car owners I was watching the race with. But the look on their face when the #59 punted the #66- PRICELESS
Oh about Enzo P. well it's "The Young and the Rideless" for him right now.

I missed recording or watching the race over the weekend, and when I just stopped by Grand-Am.com, there is a 106min video of apparently most of the coverage in the main view of the home page!
Not sure if they are going to keep doing this, but I hope so. Easy to catch the race again.

when I saw the FXDD and 57 car pretty much get taken out in the 1st turn I was jumping for joy! (I'm not a fan of Segal)
This was the perfect opportunity to make up ground in the standings.
and then it all went to crap when the 70 got hit. I could tell the car took a bump and I was hoping the car would be fine but obviously it wasn't.

Michael Shank falling over the wall to yell at the official was VERY funny, and Boris Said and Paul Dalla Lama trying to woo the Turner Girls and gettin caught on camera
Heck both of them are about old enough to be those girl's grandpa's. The BACK door comin open on the one 8, well
