This whole balancing thing is bullshit anyway, if everything was supposed to be equal everyone would watch Spec Miata, which is STILL not equal.

******* officials.

No response to my protest letter to Rolex Grand Am regarding the RPM restriction on RX-8's running in this series. It was respectful but also said hobbling a car with this type of restriction looks somewhat suspect.
I encourage others to write them as well. Take a minute for what it is worth.

I wrote: "Stop picking on the Mazdas. I think your regulation to hobble the rotary engines with such a low RPM limit just flat out sucks. I'm disgusted and will stop watching the series until rotaries can sing their best song once again."

Keep the e-mails going. They need to know how pissed off the fans are and the Mazda teams appreciate our efforts. Send your e-mails directly to Dave Spitzer - Vice President of competition for Grand-Am.

I dropped a note to Sylvain telling him of our support and responded with his thanks and appreciation for our support. He said they are not lying down and do the best they can in the final race.

"Even the playing field"?????

They act like the Mazdas were dominating. WTF? That was far from the case. Just because the 70 car wins a couple races in a row and a class powerhouse starts crying, all of the sudden the 8 is limited? Its ****** politics at its best. Look at Banner/Stevenson Pontiacs, now those guys (2 top teams) show a consisten pattern of domination, just look at the race by race results and its plain as day. Together they won 6 of 12 races and placed in top 4 in the majority of the other races. Fact is Porshe was getting slapped around by Pontiacs and Mazdas alike and the only one that got tagged with a debilitating limiter was the 8. So gay.

Do you have a better email address for him other than the one on their website? I have sent him 3 emails and had no response.

Exactly. Why don't they even the playing field by putting a minimum 7500RPM for all cars also?!? I'd love to see some piston engines DNF.

I thought that he meant Grand-Am...
I'm in a bling rage, I suppose.

I just read down to your post.

Grand-Am:
They get your emails.
They respond when they feel like it.
I get responses when I'm cordial and give some praise without criticism.

I just read down to your post.

About Grand-Am:
I just noticed that now they have a cfm-type contact page online.
That means that they have become more bureaucratic...
It's here:

Agreed. The Speedsource RX-8 makes max power (450hp) at 8500rpm. They are rev-limited to 8600rpm. Rev-limit the Pontiacs, Porsches, BMWs, Ferraris, Corvettes, etc. to 100rpm higher than their max power rpm. Nerf THEM smack in the middle of their powerband and let's see what happens.

Well! This is the last race of the season. I sent one more note to the officials of Grand Am.
I asked them to confirm they are going to require the Pontiacs disable one of their cylinders to match the ridiculous restriction placed on the RX-8's.

You're going to gain the type of popularity that I have with these guys!

Guys, don't forget to set your DVR's. This is a 7 Hr. race.
1:00PM-8:00PM ET.

I'm going to try to catch qualifying today @ 5:45PM ET on speedtv.com.
It was screwed up last time.
