They can afford to drive like that over there. They probably pay $.50 a gallon for gas. Everyone else is subsidising the cost for them.

That's what I was thinking. They're floating on a giant ocean of crude. How expensive can gas be?

 

^ First of all Americans pay probably about 25% compared to what people for instance in Europe pay for gasoline. So I doubt that Saudis get gas much cheaper than it already is in 'gas price paradise America'.
Besides the costs for new tires might easily override the costs for gas even if it was $20 a gallon. (Not to mention the costs for insurance and fines.)
