I just saw a commercial for the new dodge charger

Apparrently it's coming out on june 1st. The commercial had a couple shots of the car and it looked a lot more aggressively styles than the pre-production shots we've seen, especially in the front end.
I'm looking forward to seeing if dodge can live up to the charger name with this release. I'm also looking forward to seeing if this car doesnt get absolutely killed by gas prices with that big hemi under the hood.

I'm guessing they are using the same technology in it that the 300C and Magnun RT have (switches to being a 4 cylinder when cruising at highway speeds), therefore it will get better MPG than an RX-8 with that big Hemi.

EPA ratings (which are wrong) still say 17/25.

As much as I hate ATs in general, the AT mates really well to those cars, it's a lot of fun to just mash the pedal and go.

It's just sad to see that there's no MT option.. not even an SMG option..

agreed...no MT or SMG is extremely lame and another reason why I would never consider buying one of these

Go drive one, I drove one (Magnum RT) yesterday and drive it faily regularly. I just can't imagine the car with an MT, it's odd, but if you drove one I think you would understand where I'm coming from.

I really dont see where the fun can come from that.... but in all fairness I've never driven it

In general as far as i can see I think dodge did a half assed job on the charger from a styling standpoint... as I've said before I've not driven it so i cant really comment on its ride/performance......but only AT???? cmon

Got to drive one about 2 weeks ago (a friend of mine is an engineer at DCX).. It was OK, but personally I like the pickup on the Mustang GT better.. It handles pretty well and does have some kick, just not as much as I was hoping for.. The traction control is really intrusive (didn't have enough time to turn it off!).

I saw one yesterday on a dealership lot on the way to my GFs house. I may have to stop buy and "all of a sudden be interested in trading in my boy racer toy" for a test drive

My best Friend is a Dodge Nascar head and loves Dodge to death. He went down to Daytona this year and saw the new Charger. He said it was horrible and wants to slash Dodges Designers

I assume you meant CONvert there. If that's true, then Dodge will then be literally selling a boat on wheels.

You need to brush up on your car lingo Forgot to mention that the vert will probably be the 300C version rather than the charger.

I think it looks great, and even with AT its extremely fast, but .80Gs on the skidpad!? Too much muscle, not enough handles for me. I'd take a mustang GT or even a GTO any day over this thing.
