It took GM a little longer than 6 months. This is the Saturn Ion reengineered for Chevy. New to Chevy but not new to GM. Same motor, chassis, and tranny.

The supercharged Cobalt SS and the Ion Redline do not share a transmission, and, according to this article the Cobalt SS has a revised suspension and stiffened chassis. I remember a magazine comparison between the SRT4 and the Ion Redline that come out a while back that put the SRT4 in front of the Redline, but only by a few points. With the new gearing and better suspension, the Cobalt just might give the SRT4 a run for its money performance wise, although I'm 99% certain that the Dodge will remain faster in a straight line. If only either company would offer their pocket rockets in AWD or RWD form...

I think the cobalt looks better and has a nicer interior than the cavalier. From what I hear the Ion redline sucks when driven hard. I would still take a Mazda3 wagon over the cobalt, civic, sentra, corolla, scion tc, xa, and xb.

i think it actually is a big improvement over a cavalier, and i love the commercials with the new vette.... very creative

Chevy is putting it's foot forward in the econobox rocket race, and it definitely looks better inside and out than the Neon (all subjective of course)

I have to agree.... Looks like a cavalier with some accessories and I hate the commercial where the cobalt keeps hitting the vette from behind. They shouldnt even be in the same commercial...
