Certainly looks like the new Miata... from what we can see in the spy pics. It does not do anything for me, I will have to reserve judgement until I can see it in real life.

No, and No. The first one simply looks like the current Miata, and the second one is the Ibuki Concept car from last year, which does NOT look like the new NC Miata.

This thread has a link to pics of the disguised NC Miata in testing at the Nurburgring in Germany recently.

Regards,
Gordon

Looks like it! Here's a pic of the 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata I save at the dealers yesterday! The color is called Lava Orange Mica. Looks better in person.

the mazdaspeed miata is the old version.

when they bring out the new one, it will be NA until a year or two down the road at the very least.

the car gord linked to is in fact the NC Miata- which is the new one that is not out yet. so to the original poster and the other disbelievers- Gord is correct.

It's got tape and plastic all over it, so you can't really get a good sense of what it looks like. I don't doubt it is the real miata, but i was just thinking this may be an uncovered version of it. I didnt examin teh pictures to closely though. Either way, looks the same as the old one.

So I'm confused, the cars shown on Mazda USA listed as 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata with new colors aren't? The window sticker said 2005 Mazdaspeed also!

Yes, those are 2005 Mazdaspeed Miatas - that's the NB series Miata, sold from 1999 - 2005. We're talking about the next generation NC series Miata, a completely new ground up redesign, which will go on sale next summer as a 2006 model.

Regards,
Gordon
