Perhaps the Camaro concept was what triggered Ford to go "oh sh*t" and sponsor this design exercise.

Thumbs up

Wow that's a great body! I love it and hope we see some of his design cues in future car designs. I like the slanted forward nose. I love the 2 plane tail lights. Very original. And that's the first glass roof that actually looks like it should be a glass roofed car. Most others (kabura excepted) look like someone said "make sure this concept has a glass roof." Rather than having it be a necessary part of the design. Two thumbs way up from this guy.

I think Mustang's sales figures triggered GM's knee jerk to do the Camaro concept, not the design, but I could be wrong.

My guess is that its probably both the sales and the design that made gm do it. Im sure they were watching Ford and its mustang a long time with the idea of making a new camaro. I also bet that they could have released it a long time ago but waited until thy saw what happened with the mustang just to make sure they wernt going to compete in another pony war with dud cars.

The front end looks like a new Camaro and even the Challenger is similiar.

The sides are about the same as the new proposed Camaro too.

Back end is different and sharp.
