I still can't tell if my issue lies with the brakes or the clutch, but it's getting way less common, so I'm not too worried anymore. Teething problems, most likely. I've whipped up a mini-review comparing the MS3 to the 8, but I haven't really written a straight up review. Maybe I'll do that before too long here.

Can't make Sat, working 8-6. Wish I could, sounds like an awesome meet.

It's red, base Sport model (has everything I need). Just got it tinted, so it's lookin' good. I'll get that review going pretty soon here.

I think its a two stage brake boosted system or something...is that what is giving you issues? Modulation and sudden fluxes when braking?

It was more of a rubbing type sound - it sounds like when you blow across the top of a beer bottle, just slightly lower and with less of that "bottle" sound. It seems to be shortly after I have slowed down or stopped, and usually very shortly after releasing the clutch. It sounds like the clutch to me, but sometimes it seems to happen without clutching, which makes me wonder if it's the brakes sticking or something. It has gotten less and less common as the days have gone by, so I'm not too worried about it anymore.

As far as the deal, I don't think I did too bad for what some dealers were trying to gouge for. IIRC, I got it for $500 over MSRP. It's not the best deal I've ever gotten on a car, but compared to what some dealers wanted (one wanted $1500 over list!), I'm content.

I also got me an MS3 after my RX8 got totalled back in October last year. I took delivery of a Cosmic Blue MS3 on 11/05/06

I thought I had posted a review but I can't find it! ????

Hopefully I see your review soon. Bottom line what I found can be described in this paragraph:

"The RX8 is a DRIVER'S CAR and while it's not the most economocal, most powerful, it's beautiful and handles like a dream. The MS3 on the other hand, is not as good looking, it doesn't handle as well, the steering/shifter is quite vague but it has everything else: lots of power, reliable, fast, handles good for being FWD, useful trunk, great mileage, and it's a sleeper"

It's fun to own a car that can accomplish this kind of time at Nurburgring and it's praised by pretty much every car magazine.

Looking forward to your review

Carlos

If it was kind of a "hum" sound that occurs while still in motion that could be several things. If it only occurs after motion has ceased then it could be the ABS system or just break-in noises as things get lubed and settle. No vibration or strange modulation on the pedal? Last time I was in an MS3 the pedal felt squishier with less communication than mine, but thats mainly because my car is track prepped and so much more "connected" so I can tell, not sure if the same is true with the MS3 once you get used to it.

Not bad for his first day at the ring.
