hello btw

yeah the glass over roof is one. the trim just under the mazda emblem is another

i see it too in the angularity of the exhaust tips and tails. even though they aren't shaped the same they have that same sort of trapezoidal look to them.

the whole grille is actually more the shape of the kabura's then current cars.

im really liking the stitched leather interior trim. havent found an actual interior picture yet

Very cool concept. I can definitely see the impact of pedestrian crash safety ratings on the front end. That bumper is definitely pushed up and out, just like we're seeing all over the industry.

It looks like a very european automobile with cab backward design and long hood. Notice the triangular bulge on the hood? I wonder if this could be a modern interpretation of the cosmo 20b.

The new Mazda platform is an extremely simple design made from steel box sections that fit together to create a spaceframe. It's reportedly adaptable enough to underpin everything from the Mazda3 to the CX-7 and engineers are working to fit it under the Mazda2. It's lighter and stiffer than the current Mazda6 platform, which could lend itself to being rather sporty.

Ajax- Along with the RX/Cosmo 20b idea I was also thinking Mazda 9 maybe something with a newer refined miller cycle type engine.

That Maxda emblem is much too big---reminds me of the way GMC does their SUVS.
Long hood will make parking and steering more of a guessing game?
This cant be a RX* replacement. Looks too heavy, too big and too much luxury.
Mazda doesnt have an engine to power a big car like this at the performance level BMW etc are doing.
Fail.

i'm still a bit disappointed....a new concept (beautiful) but always at a long distance to production....

too much concepts, too few production or "near-to-production" cars

EDIT: interesting the new info about future mazda "medium/big" platform....still with an FF layout , tough...(see a sky engine mated to sky drive transmisison)

Preety ok looking, esp. from the side. Perhaps a 'poman's' Panamera with some Aston Martin influence?

But as a sports car? No way! Too big, too long, certainaly not powered by a rotary engine like anything we're ever seen or has ever been produced.....nuclear power perhaps...fusion or direct plama drive?

Or not rotary power at all... just an upmarket Mazda...which would be cool. But I'm looking for a true, hell for leather, SPORTS CAR...not something like this . ..... oh well..maybe another concept is in the pipeline

I love how angry it looks! Everyone bashed the flow/happy face design. This Kodo design language is the perfect answer.

As long as they get rid of the stupid cute little smiley front ends.... Looks like we could be in for some mean *** looking new cars if they put this into production.... A++

Also, imo, Mazda should use the RX-7 (coupe) and/or RX-9 (sedan/4dr coupe) to launch this new design language. Great way to make a splash in auto media, and make some noise. The RX-7 would be the new GT-R in terms of fascination.

This has more of a sports sedan feel to it. A sporty Mazda 9 would be awesome. It would be nice to know the dimensions. Is this car more the size of the Audi A4 or A6 or BMW 5 Series? I'm thinking Audi A6 or BMW 5 Series.

I really like this. Clean up the front end a bit, put a 16x based 3 rotor in there and call it a new cosmo.

I dont know about that. The last rotary to have a7k redline was the 91 turbo II rx7. FD had 8K, the 91 N/A had and 8k redline too.

My wife has been wanting me to buy a sports sedan for a couple of years now. This would definitely work for me.
