Mazda RX-VISION Concepts
Did anyone catch the supposed price in the article? Under 8 million Yen. 8 million yen is around 80k US. It sure as hell better be under that...WAY under that. I'd say mid 40s at the absolute most if they want to sell any.

Motoring confirms Mazda RX-9 for 2020, reveal in 2019. My stock is already rising so SMD haters.

8 Million yen!!, WTf ($100,000 AUD or $75K USD) they have rocks in their head, this is the FD all over again.
It just will not sell if anywhere near that price even a 1.6 turbo or not.
And those renderings look bloody awful when compared to the Vision.
Got Toyota 86, BMW, Mustang, all over the place.
But typical of Japanese mag editors and motoring.com.au

Oh look...as soon as one new BS article appears, others are quick to copy...and I've already seen several more besides this. Man, this stuff spreads like wildfire.

, yep been saying it and seeing it for years, now our WWW. is just a copy and paste plagiarized media 'system' with little scrutiny and fact checking or verification.Journalistic standards are virtually extinct....no ethics left at all....well almost.
motoring.com.au is the worse I have seen than any others around the world
i think the most interesting bits of info in this report are the ideas of an HCCI rotary and the use of a transaxle. those i think are the true bits along with the green lighting, everything else is just what they think they know
A new rotary car for sale in 2020 is about the only reasonable thing I believe in any of these articles we see. I just can't fathom these other numbers we keep seeing, like the ridiculous price and HP numbers. Can't we just get a N/A 2800lb car with 275-300hp, maybe 40K tops? That should be more than enough to be successful.
One of these days I'm going to have some fun and see if I can make a whole $7 off of you guys. Just a thousand impressions, that's all I need.
BC.
I hope it hits the mark 2800lbs 400HP 50/50 etc. can't see a 6 figure mazda either it won't sell, upper 40s up to 60max would be the mark for pricing I think.
2020 Mazda RX-9 Allegedly Approved For Production, 400 PS Projected Output - autoevolution
I hope this isn't the finish product... looking to camaro-ish to me (yuck) heard it was an artist render as in random guy messing around not actual mazda. I hope the vision concept is closer to the final product it's much better looking IMO.

Honestly, I'd rather they focused on making a reliably sports car. They screwed the pooch on the Renesis and it's going to take a lot for them to get the non-rotard customers back.
I think it's possible not to mention the engine is larger and turbo's are much more efficient these days.
If you look at the CX-9 its dubbed dynamic pressure basically it works like a borg-warner EFR turbo and this is in a factory produced vehicle they are learning and improving the 400hp mark isn't lofty that's where it should be in order to be competitive with current and future offerings I honestly don't think it would sell with only 300hp a 2nd gen mazda speed 3 makes close to that not to mention they don't (neither do I) want a repeat of the RX8 great chassis but getting smoked by vans,SUV, and camry's.
here are a few 300hp cars (2015 yr models I know)
2015 impala has 305hp
2015 370z 336hp
2015 genesis coup 348hp
2015 charger r/t 370hp
2015 challenger r/t 375hp
2015 mustang eco boost 310hp (is it mazda DISI engine nah but very similar)
2015 camaro 323hp
2015 v-6 mustang 300hp
this would be the competition in 2020 or whenever it releases cars that are 5 yrs old and half the price not to mention the competitions future offerings with more HP and better fuel economy the RX will be a tough sell. I just (yea I know my thought don't mean ****) think it would end up being a disaster without proper power the goal is to make sales I feel they will lose if it's under powered.
Mazda just can't depend on the sales of fans they need a universal appeal to make sales thus fuel economy power, looks, options, etc. will play a major part I think they learned from the past and will not disappoint with the new RX car. (I hope)

Yes that too! I hope they can fix that issue as well I think this will be the one though.
Mazda knows all too well the bad rap the RX8 got for its reliability issues. I predict this will be the most extensively tested Mazda in the 100 year history of the company by the time of its arrival in 2020. The emissions, fuel economy and power and performance goals will be met. It won't be an $80,000 car but it won't be cheap either. Mazda's aim with this car is NOT another affordable good performer (it will have the next generation of the MX5 for that). This is their halo car, and if they only sell a limited amount, Mazda will be satisfied if that car is astounding ! I think Mazda will stun any doubters. They have the technical prowess to pull this off !
I am ready to order one, while keeping my 40th Anniversary RX8, a proud partner to this 100th Mazda anniversary gift to the automotive world. Cheers !

Seems I've heard this song-and-dance before on another forum...

Wanklebolt, i can take a joke but I am sure it is against the rules of this group to make up quotes that were never said, and then post them as real . Not sure the forum moderators would like that trend. As a career journalist, in my profession that could lead to a libel suit. Speak your opinion, but this forum is no place for made up quotes, and made up history,
Never said, not a real quote

Obviously you can't, since you negated it with "but" in bold and italics. Threatening me with libel too.
Satire is protected speech anyway, which you as a *cough* "career journalist" should know.
I've edited the post to ease your angst.
