It is disappointing to not see any improvement since Sebring. There must be more than fuel flow problems???

Maybe Intersport Racing anticipated this P2 dominance and decided to move to P1 thinking they have a better chance there.

GT1 and GT2 do fit together just like they should but this really proves that LMP2 is too fast compared to LMP1.

really? it has nothing to do with the R10's carrying more weight, less fuel and having a smaller intake restrictor plate? gosh....i never knew?! i guess they just do suck major *** on a street course. diesels will never win...especially with all that torque coming out of corners..............aka, that's the stupidest crap i've read yet.

What are you getting at? I think its well documented everywhere, especially the discussion in this thread that the Audi is being infact slowed down a lot by many things implemented by ACO. I simply just brought up the point that the Audi is weaker in street course compared to road courses as I read in an online article.

Quote from the driver himself

Dindo Capello (Audi R10 TDI #1): "Generally, I like city circuits, Houston - with the R8 - was a great race for us last year. But we know that street courses are not optimally suited for our Audi R10 TDI. It was developed for long straights and quick corners like the track at Le Mans. For me, the lighter LM P2 cars are the favourites in St. Petersburg. But we want to win the championship. This means that we also have to be competitive on circuits that are less suitable for our car."

I guess Dindo is full of stupid crap? I think not

Some input from today...

In P2, B-K Motorsports continued learning the ropes with its new car and Mazda engine, which—like the Intersport Creation—is appearing in just its second race. In the afternoon practice session, Jamie Bach completed only 9 laps due to a software glitch with the car. Even so, in qualifying he shaved nearly two seconds off his best practice lap, a good effort considering his limited time on a new track with a new car.

“Right toward the end we found some more speed,” said Bach after qualifying. “I think the car had a couple more seconds in it but we had a few little issues during practice and couldn’t make as many laps as we’d hoped to. The tires worked real nice. We had a little bit of a push this morning, but the track was green and it was a little cool, and there was a lot of dust and dirt on course.

“The first few laps on the track were a little uncomfortable because it was hard to judge my turn-in points because of the posters and such on the walls. I couldn’t see my way around the corners, and it was a little deceiving at first.”

Notes: No Place Like Home
Even though Intersport took delivery of its new Creation just a few weeks before Sebring, the team was able to work on the car at its shop in Ohio before Sebring. B-K’s new car has not yet been to the team’s home in Wisconsin. It arrived in Florida from the U.K. just days before Sebring and “vacationed” here during the two weeks in between the Sebring and St. Petersburg races.

“The car hasn’t been home to Wisconsin yet and won’t make its first stop to the team shop until after Houston,” said John Doonan, manager of motorsports team development for Mazda North America. “To be on the road doing all this development work on a new car and engine isn’t easy, but we’re using partners’ shops so we have a place to call home for a few days as we travel.”

Electrical problems have ended the day for Mazda at lap 26. First car to retire means last place overall. 0-2

It's a shame because they had run the fastest race lap up to that point of any car on track and the electrical problems got them.

as was said before, I have no doub the car is fast and will get faster, but will it finish races?

thats 2 DNF, not a good way to star a season, I hope they take some time to figure things out before the next race

Looks like the entire season will be for testing and working out the kinks. Save myself the disappointment and not expect any real racing.

If you were just a casual observer you wouldn't even know Mazda was there!!!

At least they didn't put the car in the wall. The last thing they need is to be fixing the car while trying to get everything else sorted out.
