I'm sure there are a few people who didnt do the research and bought the 8 because it they like the way it looks, only to later find out after its too late that its not neccessarily the car for them. at that point that type of people are more prone to bash and trash other cars that they could have gotten in order to make them selves feel better. this of course applies to certain owners of all cars, not just the 8.

usually people who did the research are well aware of the pros and cons of each cars and wouldnt feel the need for any bashing

Coming from 3 previous Z cars that i owned and loved('80280Z,'86 TurboZ,'94TTZ Stage III) i never warmed up to the 350Z. I love the engine but i hate the looks of the car... overall i respect them for what they are.

Test driven many and got to really drive my friends '350Z many of times. Yet i will not buy one, something about the 8 , i feel so connected with it, like my old 280Z. I felt one with the car , and i feel that way with my 8. I can't describe it , but you car enthusiast know what i meen.

The 350Z may be faster ,may be more popular....... but the 8 just feels right.

i like Z's from all generations, i just dont like some people that drive them.

funny story,
so im all cool cruising on the right lane going to class and this 350 is taunting me with his warning lights going speeding past and wating and the whole deal(i wouldnt bother to respond anyway, i'd get spanked). so he does that until we hit a stop light together. he starts revving and i tell him to lower his window. he looks like hes in his high 20s low 30s and im like "what are you, 12?" i start laughing and he says f*** you along with the friendly middle finger. he speeds away in disgust. mind you im 20.

I have respect for the 350Z, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. And I don't. But I also almost convinced a friend to buy one just about a month ago. I recognize it isn't for me, but for others it is. I like that the 350Z/G35c are available, it's hopefully healthy competition for Mazda and Toyota and everyone else.

I think Nissan had a chance to come out with a real winner, and before it's release they hyped it like it would be the next great thing. I have one magazine where a Nissan engineer claimed the 350Z convertible would outperform a BoxsterS. I wouldn't bet on the 350Z Track edition vs. the BoxsterS.

Likewise, someone on the Z forum can make the same comments regarding the mistake Mazda did with the RX line and the soft RX-8. I've got no problem with that.

Nope. What year BoxsterS and Z were they? I'm not going to say no chance the Z won, and I'm not too surprised. But I also won't take one race as a firm indication of who would win every time unless the lap times were considerably different.

It is an awesome car, and its success helped prove to other Japanese Manufacturers that selling a true sports car in the US is feasible again

Thanks for that link. They were saying everything that gets said on here all the time with a bais towards the Z of course (8 baised on this site naturally). Its nice to see mutual respect, I think they are a very similar community.

The Z's depreciation isn't as steep as the 8's.

+1. This is why I frequent this board often even though I went with the Z instead of the 8. Very good crowd here.

^^ Very nice! What trim level? Options?

One thing I wish Nissan would do is stop penny pinching on the extra airbags and make the side airbags standard on all models and also develop side curtains. The 8 definitely has the Z beat in that regards.

I'd love the 8 even more if it came with the Z's torque.

^ Those Zs are ugly and ricey.

I'm a fan of the Z car, test drove a 350z several years ago. It was nice but a litte too much road noise and it had a heavy clutch.

How about we start a new thread "I don't hate the 350z, but I hate the 350zmotoring.com forum members". Man most of those guys are jerks and inmature, they really bash the 8 and other cars.

I tell you one thing, Nissan cars are starting to all look the same, I can't tell the difference from a Maxima, Altima, or Sentra from the front. They all have the same square look, that styling is about as boring as the Honda Accord.

I personally love the car. I think people just bitch about it because their stock power is equal to our power after forced induction.

yeah i love them but they are just too dang popular, that and they only have 2 seats. their exhaust is sooo sweet. The new ones (07) with the hood buldge looks kind of funny though.

Took the words right out. I tried searching for the video but I could not find it. The Boxster S came in last and was very far behind the other cars (M3, 350Z, S2000, etc) Oh, and all were driven by professionals.

Starting such a thread would show that our maturity level matches theirs. I believe we're much better than that so there's no need to mention what others are saying about our 8.

Agreed, I was just joking with that thread. I would rather spend my time out on the open road driving the 8 than on some forum bashing cars.

Besides the AT=>6port, has the rx8 changed much in the past 4 years?

Thanks! Its the enthusiast trim (one level above base). It adds the LSD, allum pedals, traction control, homelink, and a few other nice features. I really liked the cloth in this car and didnt feel like spending 2k more for leather and a crappy Bose system, so this was perfect. OTD @ 30k. As for options, it has carpeted mats, allum kick plates, and splash guards. (the last 2 were not installed when the car was delivered, hence missing from the photos)

Here is a shot of the interior, which I happen to like:

Its nice because my parents have a WB rx-8, so I get experience both sides of the coin

The one thing I love about both of these cars is that they look better than 95% of the cars on the road...stock! These are cars that you can buy without putting another dime into, and they'll still be amazing.
