no thanks, I don't want to be friends with someone who resorts to making personal attacks on the internet when he looses an argument.
Dear Admins, If he can refrain from posting more personal attacks and keep things civil. Please don't ban him.
thanks,

I didn't lose the argument, as you know. I won, as you know. The mods know me. I am extremely reasonable until I'm met involuntarily by unreasonable people. But I've made my point and everything should be ok from now on...I hope.

Stealth, I thought you warned Greg.
And yes, I came in knowing that the mods do know me. But I got an invitation, so I came back. I have a ton of ideas (that can help any forum running out of gas) and I have started some threads over the years that are some of the most important in terms of helping out ALL RX8 owners. But I have never initiated crap with a reasonable person, only responded to unreason without wavering, which IS my MO.

Look, playdoh, you obviously didn't read the thread very well. I make perfectly solid points as to how a comparison MUST be between the two engines. DailyDriver's posts trumps "everyone's" and supports my position. And this must be acknowledged. It can not be conveniently disregarded! My goodness.

Devildog's post would seem to support limepro, right guys?
Hey today's LA Time's sports section has an interesting quote on page 2 from the interviewer regarding Pete Carroll in his "60 Minutes" tv segment (which will air on CBS on Sunday at 7 PM). The interviewer, Byron Pitts, says, "...what struck me was how Pete uses the power of positive thinking so effectively. He uplifts players instead of breaks them down."

Bah, I still would never pay 70k for a nissan even if its a GTR. To me the car is not very good looking, (seen it in person) and I really do not like the transmission. I preferr it manual like the old days. I would much rather have another car.

Again, this is bizarre. There are only a handful of posts between me and DailyDriver in that thread. And you need me to place the connections at your feet, your majesty? There's no subtlety in those connections either; they're concrete and obvious. LOL.
It's going to be up to you at this point. You're perfectly capable.

i dont see it ... please do elaborate?
https://www.rx8club.com/general-automotive-49/nissan-370z-pictures-158135/page11/
starting from this post
VQ has design compromises from the six in the 300z, which had a superior design that cost more. For anyone who remembers, that six was extremely smooth. Nissan wanted to cut costs. I read an article once but I don't remember the specific differences. Result from the cost-cutting design is a rougher engine with a lower redline. As you know, the 370z's engine only has a redline of 7500 rpm, which imo is unacceptable.
I dont see a single post by daliydriver that support your claim
I only see everyone against your argument
Bro, no offense, but I disagree with you.
I was a sales manager for a Nissan Dealer, those engines are tanks. There have been on wards top ten list for 16 years now. Its a great engine, good fuel economy, lots of power. The early 350Z problems were within the suspension and transmissions, and most of those bugs were ironed out by 2004.
The 350Z is a great car, just a bit boring. But they're reliable dont kid yourself Those engines arent meant to be high revving engines, it loses power by the time its at 7500 rpms anyways.
Ive worked for both Nissan and Mazda dealers and there were way more RX8s in for service than 350Zs

"Only" 7500 rpm. What a crappy reciprocating engine to spin to "only" 7500 rpm. If it doesn't spin past eight grand like an M3 V8 or an F430 then it must be a pile of ****.
You sound like one of those Honda fanbois. Next you'll be telling us what a piece of junk it is because it doesn't make 100 HP/L.
By the way, the VQ37DE has a 500 RPM higher redline than the VG30DETT.
Let's see... the VQ37DE has a 500 RPM higher redline (hey, your criteria, not mine), makes more power and torque without resorting to forced induction, it costs less to manufacture, and it meets today's stringent emissions guidelines. Tell me again why this engine is inferior to the VG30DETT?

If you can make an engine with higher redline, more HP per liter, less polluting and all that without using previously known expensive methods... how can you say the new engine is inferior than the older one?
I don't get it...
I've never drove a 300ZX, but was it as smooth as a rotary? Cuz if a smoother engine = superior engine, then the rotary engine should be considered the mother-pwnage of all engines, no?
I'm so freakin' confused... someone please explain.

you get owned by everyone and resort to making personal attacks.

Sorry, everyone, including playdoh. Actually DailyDriver's corroborating posts are in the Ward's Auto Declares 10 Best Engines of 2009 thread, which is here: https://www.rx8club.com/general-automotive-49/wards-auto-declares-ten-best-engines-2009-a-162163/. I apologize for pointing you guys to the wrong thread. I thought playdoh was just being his usual you know what. Note that this does not mean in the least that playdoh is not a you know what.
I also thank DailyDriver for his posts in that thread. I've made that statement before in this and other forums and got attacked just the same. This is the very first time that someone with firsthand experience with the engines actually backed me up multiple times. Although DD was very diplomatic in the way he went about it, his position is clear and matches my position. BTW, we just got a SECOND contributor (this time in the 370z thread) whose position matches DD's and mine in so far as Nissan trucks are concerned.
