Nissan 370Z pictures
That's not because the 350 is better than the 370. Based on the maturity level on the Z boards I have no doubt that it's because many of those owners are douchebags and don't want to admit that they don't have the best Z car anymore.
That still makes me lollerskates.

Don't think this was posted. It shows some of the new features vs the 350 and also shows and compares the auto blipping feature

A montessori has more maturity than the the combined community of my350Z.com.
At first I didn't mind the looks but now with seeing in person pictures, ugh. Not a fan. I still think all 8s including the 09s look better. I really don't understand how Nissan could make the car smaller and trim weight, and yet it really isn't that much thinner. Plus the cabin looks almost cruelly small.
Another thing that is increasingly criticized is how Nissan is pushing their Q serious engine too far in this and the G35. Edmunds talked of how the engine vibrated excessively at full throttle. Yuck.

what's wrong with Nissan unrelenting tuning of the VQ engine? I think it's great that Nissan is doing that rather than toss in a brand new engine like so many car makers.
One main general complain is that the VQ engine drones alot in the Z. It gets annoying after a while. I wonder if they will still retain that "Moaning Cow" sound.

I only have two gripes:
1) It's ugly as sin. Seriously. What's up with all the new manufacturers serving up uglier cars for the new generation? While the 240z was sex on wheels, this one looking like a smashed pumpkin.
2) Some people say the engine sounds nice. I think it's a horrible noise. It's just a noise..., and lacks the growl that tells you it's chucking out 332 horsepower. It sounds like a luxury sedan more than a sports coupe.
But will I buy it? Definitely, but only with a different bodykit and aftermarket exhaust.

Base 16x next generation rotary car needs to be about 2750 lbs, so that GT would be about 2850 lbs. I wonder if Mazda can do it
"Mazda will also develop parts from what it calls ‘micro-cell’ plastic which can save weight by up to 10 percent. 15 percent of the weight loss will come from lighter and improved chassis components"
if the micro cell thing works, it should help a fair bit, I've also read somewhere that Lexus or some other brand saves a bunch of weight by hollowing out the ends of bolts used in the construction of the car.
VQ has design compromises from the six in the 300z, which had a superior design that cost more. For anyone who remembers, that six was extremely smooth. Nissan wanted to cut costs. I read an article once but I don't remember the specific differences. Result from the cost-cutting design is a rougher engine with a lower redline. As you know, the 370z's engine only has a redline of 7500 rpm, which imo is unacceptable.

I was a sales manager for a Nissan Dealer, those engines are tanks. There have been on wards top ten list for 16 years now. Its a great engine, good fuel economy, lots of power. The early 350Z problems were within the suspension and transmissions, and most of those bugs were ironed out by 2004.
The 350Z is a great car, just a bit boring. But they're reliable dont kid yourself
Those engines arent meant to be high revving engines, it loses power by the time its at 7500 rpms anyways.Ive worked for both Nissan and Mazda dealers and there were way more RX8s in for service than 350Zs
I like the new Z. Seems to be a better overall package than the last generation and if the pricing is accurate--sounds like it should be competitive. Poor 8 - in need of a total redo.
Bro, no offense, but I disagree with you.

Unfortunately, you're not in a position to disagree. Facts are facts. Ward's engine awards are completely irrelevant. This forum has discussed those awards years ago, and there are politics as well as other factors involved (e.g., how important an engine is to a segment or manufacturer in terms of sales).
The statements I made are from articles talking ONLY about the engine. It is a fact that the engine in the old 300zx is a superior, smoother, and costlier design. Period. There's no debate here.
