i read a story on that in a recent issue of autoweek (tuner special which also had an article on the 1200hp acosta rx-8).

the elise still stands as the only car i would trade my rx-8 for, period.

Like the Elise? But wished the engine would sing louder and rev higher?

Get one with VTEC from www.sunspeed.com
Revs to 9100 rpm, 200hp NA.
Using a 1.8l Integra Type R engine tuned by Spoon.

Some chap in Malaysia Elise club has a red elise with a 2.0l VTEC in the bay too.

Point is, if you wanna buy a track car that you can easily modify... buy an Elise.
The fun you get is worth every penny.

Talking about Elise, there's a green one on the floor where I park at work. I've seen it run by once and it sounded like a 350Z! Only pitched a little higher, but it still sounded like a 350Z.

Actually I love that engine. I drove a corrola xrs(or whatever) and it was really quick. Definately sweet for a 1900lb car.

I think the Lingenfelter Vette was tested at 950HP. But seriously go ahead and spend outrageous $ on a Vette just to be beaten to death by Gas prices.
True, but do you really think that someone who is going to be able to do that is going to have to worry about money? I think it is safe to say they won't care about the costs...

thats my GT4 car the turbo mosquito... talking about engines, I've read that you should swap the gts engine for the celica gt engine whereas the gt is easier to tune. How much does that whole setup cost?

must have been the drivers becaseu those things are bad ***. a lotus not performing well at the track can only be blamed on poor driving. when a car pulls 1.0+ g's STOCK, you have no reason to do bad at the track.

Hi Xyntax, do you work in the Pruneyard? I was house shopping 2 weeks ago in Cambrian and Willow Glen and saw a green Elise with light brown interior in a driveway. Looked better than the houses on that street :-) I checked her out and the owner came over and let me sit in it.

Was pretty difficult for me to climb in with a torn ACL and a torn meniscus :-) He had just completed 500 miles and said it was going to be his daily driver - a 2 mile commute to the Pruneyard.

He even lets the car sit open under the powerline where the birds sit on. <shrug> well, he said "it's just a car". He converted his garage into a playroom for his kids - rather has the kids safely in the house and the car being crapped on instead of the kids on the street and the car clean in the garage.

I didn't mention that I heard it had a Celica engine, he was very proud of his new toy and it looked real sharp.

-Peter

P.S.:
I think he said he's a CPA or something like that. His other car in the driveway was a 1802 BMW or similar, from the 80ies and I think something else of the average kind where you don't pay attention. Some boring sedan.

Why don't you look at the STATS.

They are slow as hell.

Kinda reminds me of another car that handles but goes slow.

Now I wonder which car that may be?
