Diagnostic services?
I'm trying to gauge interest in a service that i haven't come accross yet. I've got an idea for a business and i'm wondering if any of you guys would be interested in the service if it were available in your area.
I'm a mechanic by trade and i'll be graduating from Florida State with a degree in social sciences this coming fall. i'm not certified by any service associations yet but that is mainly due to college time hindering a text-book study of automotive systems that is needed to achieve certain certifications. rest assured, any business endeavour i embark on i will attain the appropriate certifications.
my idea is to offer a mobile diagnostics service for vehicles with check engine lights, ABS lights, or other malfunction indicators. i will cover my local area of Tallahassee offering this service.
if such a service were available would you consider using it? for a fee between 40 & $50?
the service would be done using the latest state of the art diagnostics equipment and software. it would offer a detailed, printed and highlighted explanation of the reportedd errors, a printed but not binding "ball park" estimate on what to expect for parts and labor from a flat-rate shop. also available would be an independant diagnostics verification service at a marginal discount from the regular service for customers who have had their vehicle checked out at a shop and want to verify the integrity of the shop's estimates.
would anyone in here take adantage of such a service. home, office, or even roadside service would be available.
thanks for your input!
