There are probably reasons behind it.. The new MPV is a great vehicle. Maybe the American market isnt ready for a turbocharged mini van, haha...

Mazda isn't going to beat Toyota and Honda with the minivan set. Mazda doesn't offer what those customers want, dependability and peace of mind. I'm not saying Mazda isn't dependable, but people buy off reputation and Toyota and Honda have it. Basically the people buying a minivan are doing it because it's safe and logical.
That's why Mazda can take the crossover market with the CX-9. People buying crossovers want something more, be it looks, performance, or some form of soul in thier ride. If they didnt want this, they'd have done the logical thing and bought the Toyota or Honda minivan. Mazda can grab these customers, because that something extra is what they offer over the other makes. That's why i think the CX-7 and CX-9 are perfect additions to the Mazda lineup.
