You're correct, it isn't yours. Sorry, sporto. I'll pay closer attention next time... My powers of perception aren't bulletproof.

I was goin somewhere with this, but if you ain't got it yet, I don't think you're gonna get it, unless you're just ****** with me, and I didn't get that, so either way what we got is errors in communication which is what really my point was all about.

Posts 73 and 74. He tried to be clever in making his point and ended up misquoting me. Perhaps a mini-pwn, but a pwn nonetheless.

Are these what you call "original" colloquialisms? After all, you said:

Yes, I did double check to be sure it was YOU who typed that.

I may have been busted for neglecting to quote you properly, but linguistically, you have not successfully made a point that proves anything aside from your being grumpy about most everyone ELSE's use of language. If I may steal your own figures, I believe far more than 90% of people who read the terms and phrases you're pissed off about understand them, especially when you consider the audience to whom they are writing.

(now fully expecting the "they are considering their audience, and they're all stupid" comment)

Ah, yes, the "when in doubt, resort to insults" approach.

Don't worry, "I got it". Using language to paint a picture in the reader's mind=bad.

I'm not insulting you. I giving you observations. What's happening here between you and I, and you and Saturn is precisely what my arguement is about. I'm conveying points to you using simple language. You are clearly distorting the meaning of my messages to you via whatever internal egotistical noise you have going on in your head and you are proving this by iterating to me and the rest of the world how you are interpretting my words. That last line may seem insulting, but it's just the truth. Perhaps you lack analytical ability to completely digest my arguement. Becuase as you are demonstrating, you continue to make my position a black or white issue, being good or bad, in relation to this topic we are discussing.

Something similar happens when these writers use fluffy, vague language when describing aspects or qualities of automobiles.Do some people fully understand the meaning of the words,....yes. When writers use these words, are they properly using the word or phrase in conjuction with its official meaning? Not all the time. And that's my issue. Is when writers use ineffective and innacurate language to convey a message, becuase one has to surmise and extrapolate what the writer is trying to convey based upon the context of the article. While it is entertaing (I don't dispute you on this) it is a gamble and innefficient, which is NOT to say that it isn't emotionally effective.

When being concise and accurate with language...will that lend a body of work to be boring or unimaginative, perhaps. BUT you have understand the purpose of language first before manipulating it. We speak and write to convey messages. We have dictionaries so that we have a general consesus of what particular words mean. Thus, with these definitions we use our concise abbreviated symbols, words, to communicate our thoughts and feelings to others. This last section is the basis of my arguement hopefully with this you will better understand.

Which "internal egotistical noise", exactly, is causing me to interpret an insult out of such "concise and accurate language"?

I'm sorry, I "lack analytical ability" and I need this to be explained further. Saying "fabricating conclusions from your rectum" instead of "pulling **** out of your ***" doesn't quite explain how your argument holds any water.

Those comments don't, and they aren't meant for edification. They're for entertainment. I thought you liked this type of language? No?

Ok, ok, I quit....you got me. Yes, those are dick things to say to someone. Although, when someone is fitting the profile, does it make it less offensive becuase it may be accurate?

ok,ok I QUIT!! Seriously...I'll stop defending myself. If you in anyway were offended by my words, I r sowwy. K? I mean it.

The analytical thing, I am serious about. You seem to apply alternate meanings to messages and/or take messages out of context.
