When do we see the sedan? I'm hoping the price bump isn't too significant since that interior looks very high quality. Mazda needs to be careful with that. Too much of a price bump will have people turning right back to the Toyotas and Hondas.

I doubt the price bump will be significant if at all. The 3 is far too important to scare people away with a higher price tag (it's still not seen as a premium product compared to Toyota, Honda etc)

On another train of thought... I wonder how this "family face" may translate to a new RX7 or MX5. Personally I think the new 3 and 6 look fantastic with the new Headlight/Grill.

This looks like a trick ride, too bad it's a bit off compared to cars like the "here now" Focus ST and "almost here" Fiesta ST. I'll never understand why companies don't lead new car intros with their best stuff. Video of the Ford twins against this or that hothatch or the twins shows just how good these cars can be. Economy car owner are suddenly getting the good stuff! So to be in the competition right now is eveything, and probably why Mazda did an reveal now. The market is heating up. I hope Mazda doesn't bring to the party a slightly late and underpowered car with great handling, again. Waiting on some unknown future is tough.

The MK7 GTI is the new benchmark for hot hatches. Yes, eliminating the Focus ST all while being just as quick but definitely more polished.

Mazda's formula for the MS3 have always leaned towards power rather than handling, though it is a poor handling car by any means. Much like a FWD muscle car.

it is cg done by the same company that did the cg of the computer model for the mazda launch . the pic was mistakenly(it was a mistake surely ) posted online by Mazda Canada adn then quickly removed/replaced by the shot of the hatch

WOW again...This is a great looking 3 Sedan.

Mazda are on another winner here...just look what they can do without Ford telling them what they 'should' do.

Looks so much better than the all new Nissan (called Pulsar here or Tiida) and Cruise.

This has class and quality.

BTW: Guess what the updated CX-5 and 6 will have in dashes next year...

One of Mazda's only remaining problems is production volume. They can't build as much as the current demand. The sales numbers for the new 6 in the US are totally limited by availability right now. I think this was one of the reasons the diesel variants are delayed a year for the US. There are known markets that needed them more than we do. This is also why the US is getting the new 3 first; they cannot build enough to satisfy the potential demand initially and the US market is key in that segment, often selling 6-10,000 units per month.

Mazda Japan are shipping and also limiting 6 stocks to where they can gross the most out of, plus by restricting supply artificially or just because of demand in the US means discounting is not needed, hence better margins for dealers, frankly IMO I think it is a stupid system of retailing for cars, why should a car cost more because it is in demand...again IMO goes against proper consumer rights where I live, but I get the idea, just don't like it, I prefer to have a set price which does not fluctuate because of new demand...a car is after all a new product, not a used one or a used property.

Anyway, ....until Mexico opens next year supply everywhere is going to be an issue.

As 'car and driver' recent article just said, ''doom & doom'' fro Mazda, I say BS...
Even in Europe Mazda are starting to out pace other brands in a dead market.

It is a great problem to have.
Apart from China's/Japan political issues, China sales are down over 30% YTY.
