1950 Chevy Pickup Restoration

Alright, my pops is restoring a 1950 3/4 Ton Chevy Pickup. I thought that I would share progress on the truck with you all. However, before I post pics, I would like to know how interested people are in this project. that way, I'm not wasting your time or mine.

Quick synopsis:

my dad found the truck at a local hotrod show. it has been sitting in a barn with a concrete floor for years. I dont remember how long off the top of my head. Well, the deal was good enough that my dad jumped on it. He's been doing a full body-off restoration. Right now, he's fabing parts in the bed (he's relocating the fuel tank). He's done a ton of work already. Engine, frame, cab (primed already). But there's still alot of work to do. He's trying to finish by June.

Let me know if anyone is interested in this project and I'll post pics tonight when I get home!

Hey Michael! ^.^

Would love to hear/about the truck as someday I want to do something similar and buy my dad a truck from 1955; same year he was born + he loves old chevys. Thx!

Pre-body change or post? midway through 1955 they changed the body.

my family owns a rather large chevy/gmc dealership, weve been talking about buying a 50's gm truck for the showroom, let me see what youve got done so far!
what are you planning to use for a motor. Please say a zz502.

lol, well, we have a tight budget for this project, so we refreb'd the motor that was in it, and put a dual carb setup on it.

bwaaahahaha.... i have no clue wouldnt know the diff but its ok neither would my dad
More looking at an old beater that my dad could abuse, versus a restoration ^^; [Hides from thunder bolts from the Classics Gods]

Anyways, would love to see/read up on ur project to see what I'll be getting myself into.

We've "inherited" a 48 ford pick-up. We call him gramps and he's gettin' his guts worked on now. It was in an area that flooded twice before we got him and we needed to assess any damage from the water. He's red (original color, but has been repainted) with a flathead 6.

I'll go look around for a picture....

Funny, my brother in law and I are part way through a 1950 chevy pickup restore as well. It already had a Camaro front end so that saved us some time. He opted for a new crate 350 that should pump out out about 300HP. We still need a custom drive shaft and some other small bits but we should be able to fire her up soon and get her to my buddies for body and paint.
