If I do this to my side markers I am going to be installing leds in the blinker aswell. Thanks
This can't be done with LEDs. You can do this with an incandescent bulb because either contact can act as the positive. LEDs only work one way.

Great post! So far I have changed all the interior bulbs to blue LEDs and the side markers and the running lights in the headlight housing are now 5K LEDs! Looks awesome completed!

I may have to nibble on my shoe here. According to V-LEDS latest tech bulb they do in fact have a 194 flanking bulb with special circuitry that will work in this instance (with positives going to both leads so it will act as both a marker and signal). I'm waiting to hear from them on which bulb it is exactly. Here's a link to the blog post where it is mentioned:

Good bye LED foglights!

Well, it's been over 2 years since I started this thread and now sadly it's time to say a fond farewell to my LED fog lights...

Instead, I'll be installing what is pictured below. I will do a full DIY write up with pics too.

I also got a couple of 12" white strips which I'll also be doing a little custom DIY with... can anyone guess what it will be?

Those are the HID lights. I got the same ones, they are amazing, no misfires, go from cold to full brightness in just a few seconds. He said he is getting rid of the LED lol

Yeah, that's kind of what gave me the idea. Now I have to work on making my engine bay presentable so I can show it off more! I started detailing a bit last night and pulled all the ugly insulation out. That RB intake will help too!

Quick question, may have already been answered but I'll risk it.

You know how our headlights have those little yellow turn signal bulbs in the corner? Well, I was looking at my car today and was thinking "You know what would look slick? If there was absolutely no yellow visible at all in my headlights!"

So, is there a bulb that appears clear, but glows yellow? Kind of like the "stealth bulbs" that fit our clear corners, so there is no yellowish color? But IN OUR HEADLIGHTS!

Yes, look at the LED bulbs that I'm using for my turn signals on the first page. You can also get chromed incandescent bulbs (stealth). Look for bulb type 7440.

So, here's where I installed the ballasts, which is kind of hard to see in the pictures. I wanted to install it on metal, so I cleaned off a spot next to the horn, above the oil cooler and put it there.

I sourced a newer pair of fog housings with the scatter shields still in tact.

Here's with the bulb installed in the housing. The bulb is too long, so you have to bend the scatter shield down slightly to make the bulb fit.

I haven't made it out for a real shoot yet, but here is a quick shot of the fogs on. I actually found that if you aim the fogs as high as possible it will cut a lot of the glare for oncoming traffic. Because you have to bend the scatter shield down, if you aim the housing down also, it exposes the unshielded arc of the bulb to oncoming traffic and makes glare much worse. With the housing aimed up, they are dimmer than the headlights, not offensive to oncoming traffic and throw usable light on the ground.
