^ So they just replied to my email. They said its not normal but it does happen. And that it should update soon. Its been a week now since its left KEnt.

I dont mind the shipping problems. I jsut dont want it to be at the post office without me knowing then they end up resending the LEDs to Vleds.

Did you receive your bulbs yet? It sucks that the shipping took so long, but it sounds like V-LEDS got them in the mail right away. Not much they can do at that point.

Im waiting till Thursday and if i dont get an email back. Ill send them a third email. Now can i jsut ask for them to resend the LEDS ?? How does that work ??? Wouldnt they need proof that i have not received them ?? How does it work ??

I'm chiming in because this thread keeps popping up in different threads I see:

The length of the bulb tends to make things difficult as well.

Height matters when it comes into considering these lights - just not the amount, or the position of LEDs.

Example: I bought 2x Door Lights, measuring 32.5 mm. These lights did fit, with a bit of a struggle to get the covering back on.

As a Series II owner:
1. Be aware that swapping out the rear-lights with LEDs will make your stock brake lights seem to tint to orange. It's a testiment to the quality of light, red lights put out.

2. V-Star lights for the rear-turning will fit. Barely. It'll scrape one of the arms onto the housing.

Hi, Aipex, I'm going to be ordering fogs for my car. I wanted to ask you, why did you change from leds to hids? I was checking the prices and both cost the same.

Thanks

LEDs aren't really bright enough for driving use.

Yes, all the LEDs listed will work with 04-08 (I drive an 04). 09+ use some different bulbs however. Would any of you series II owners like a thread with links to bulbs that will work for you?

Neither HIDs or LEDs can be used to drive at night. LEDs just aren't bright enough and even with HIDs the beam pattern is wrong... it throws a wide shallow beam pattern which is how a foglight should work. I suppose if you are creaping along slowly at night in really thick fog they would work, but mostly I use them for DRL use and I do turn them on to make myself more visible to others when it's rainy and crappy... Which is about 90% of the time here in the PNW!

Both LEDs and HIDs work great as DRL lights though... try em out, you'll probably like them a lot!

Oh, I'm behind you 100% Aipex. I just thought for some reason the LED fogs would PUSH more light, as opposed to just being brighter. Either way, I don't think I've ever used my fogs for fog, even when it's foggy.

What do you mean by pushing more light vs. being brighter?
Do you mean something like more spread out vs being tighter focused?

I don't think fog lights are supposed to be scattered like "Hid in OEM (non-projector)" lights.

I thought they were supposed to be mostly flat (to avoid glare), pointed down before the headlights.

Yes to being flat to avoid glare, but fogs should have a shorter wider beam pattern compared to headlights. This makes it difficult to drive at speed with only the fogs on.

What I'm trying to say is that LED lights don't shine light out nearly as well as regular bulb, but you can see LEDs (as DRLs) much better. You don't use LEDs to see things, you use them so people can see you.

Aipex:

I changed my parking (geez, the passenger side, what a bioth!!) and corner lights last night. One thing I noticed is that the lights of my corners don't "fill up" the whole corner area like in your pics. Which LEDs did you use? the ones with 2 leds or the ones with 4 leds?

Edit: And to clarify, I did remove the reflectors, also, what a pain...

2 LEDS: http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...02682-1-2.html

4 LEDS: http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...-p5768086.html

And, just curious, in some of your pics, your corners are turned off even when all of your other lights are on, did you rewire them to perform differently?

Thanks for all your info, my next change will be the fogs using the hids.
