San diego PD did a crime prevention publicity stunt by showing to newspeople that a pair of professional thieves can strip a car of alot of external valuable parts in less than 2 mins.

My brother used the original Center Console as base, and make me a full Carbon Fiber 1-din console.
(He told me he can also make a Guage Pod on the Console too, for around $400-500 but not Carbon fiber)
The LCD and Guages are install into the Center console cos theres a lot of empty space under it
And he also make me 2 pillar for my Tweeters and also my Guage.

car theives & alarm systems
I used to study & work in the States for 10 years. I got my car broken in so many times I lost count. Then I asked my insurance guy about installing an alarm system into my car.
Anyway my insurance guy basiscally said this to me:
If you want them (the theives) to do a nice clean job with your dashboard when taking out your car radio, don't install an alarm system.
If you don't mind your dashboard being ripped to shreds due to their time contraint, then install an alarm system.
(BMW used to mean "Break my window")
Its up to you. YOu can imagine my reaction... mouth all wide open & all.
Security is all about perception.
If people want to steal, regardless of all the precautions one can take, they will steal. Take for example of the english footballers' houses being broken in. As much as they are being paid and thus, teh assumption that they have decent house alarm systems for their house, they still get broken into.
Lesson here: Shrug your shoulder when it happens -- rims or otherwise and just be grateful that this wasn't an accident where someone was injured! (since they say bad things happen in threes!! One more and two to do!!) Don't bang you head over this and "try to be more careful" the next time. These bastards will steal when they see something they can sell. I am sure all of you agree that the 8 has a few things worth stealing.

I suddenly had a picture of four rims in place of the car; stole the car and left the rims.
Sad man...
And yet you had to pay more for multi-storey carpark than open carpark and yet this happens.

I'm actually a bit surprised we don't hear about more theft problems in Sing given the quality of the rides/parts people have here, but then of course there are very strict laws should one get caught....which is definitely a good thing.
I used to worry about my LE37 rims....until I scratched one at the Tuas link customs (arrrghhh! )....now they have less resale value
