Volks Racing rims don't come with lock nuts. You'll have to buy them separately.

Fab 8 12-19-2005 08:17 AM

No kidding?? Sorry to hear that, man. That sucks big time.

sad to hear that. suggest that you start posting in major car forums (evo, honda, wrx, lancer, etc) to get some attention. hopefully someone can provide some info. not unless it is heading for the north...

not sure what your point was, that it would not be useful? :Wconfused understand that this has happpened in other forums. but (18"?) volk rims are not common rims and potential buyers (in sg) are in a way limited, as compared with say a 15"/16" rims. regardless, think there is no harm trying. one good example is that my friend recovered his stolen car with help from forum members. :fingersx:

Can the thief hav a box of full of the "specail lock nuts" opener? cos most of the Special lock nuts selling in Spore are about the same .

If he does have a full range of nut openers, should I go over seas and buy one set thats is not sold in Spore?

Er28 12-20-2005 08:52 AM

I remembered when I was young my dad's car has these special nuts with locks that require a key to turn. There's one in each wheel, do they make these anymore?

Thats what I want. cos most of the specail lock nuts are mass produce with the same shape and sizes. so the risk of having our rims stolen is much higher compare to those lock nuts using a key.

Although The nuts with key cant really prevent the pros from doing their jobs, at least it would not be as easy as the normal lock nuts.

most if not all lock nuts manufacturer onli come up with half a dozen to a dozen thread patterns so crooks with access to any service workshops selling rims should have a box of them within reach.

once i went back to e workshop for tyres rotation and forgotten to bring my lock nut adaptor but it wasn't a problem because they have just about every adaptor for every tread pattern.

anyway with or without e adaptor e crooks can still chip away e thread n loosen e bolt.
if there's a will, there's way......
