Benny, do start a new thread on your rebuild with pics and all. Easier for us to refer to next time. Thanks!

may also need to consider other things le...redlining mite be one of the precaution that can be taken to clear carb... e.g like lung cancer some people dun smoke also have

many things to consider...like last time i had my engine high speed fan's fuse relay burnt...the stock gauge didnt indicate the increasing temp.. gud thing i hav my defi to tell me that water temp was 140deg...if it wasnt for my defi i mite blown my engine also mebe

Defi only shows up to 120 degrees on water temp gauge, and it's quite impossible for water to rise until 140 degrees and not cracking reservoir tank...

Not really a myth in that some were "not quite right" to begin with. Whenever you introduce humans to any process it will always also introduce errors.

Rotaries like a fine wine age well when properly maintained, and part of that ritual includes occasional redlining. Some might still build up carbon at a faster rate than others but regardless the redlining helps to reduce the buildup.

The rest of the time, its simple, stupid, luck...which sucks...

Stock guage has two modes...normal, and not..."not" is tripped when its almost too late..."normal" is on the rest of the time...

Aftermarket guages FTW...

Power to Weight Ratio of the RX8 should be better since both cars weigh in circa 1,350 kg as the GTI has 200HP at 5100 RPM and the RX8 has 250HP at 9000 RPM at crank.....

Well reviews do say the GTI does 0-100km/h in 6.8 secs whereas the RX8 does the same in 5.9 secs...Turbo or no Turbo. Spec sheets do have at least 80% accuracy even though manufacturers tend to exagerate.

Maybe MAN8 missed shifting into a gear??? Sean....whereever you are, pls demystify us

Puzzled now?
