Yups....agree with david with regards to many successfull 20B project. But, all those projects came with a heavy price. Which, in my opinion isn't really worth it. I don't think i have the heart to cannibalise my 8 just to shoehorn a 20B. I will admit though that only a decade ago i was very seriously considering doing it to my FD..... Prolly, the only conversion that ive been giving some thought to is a FD 13B engine transplant...... Performance figures for this engine are acceptably high. Mounting it should'nt be a prob. Main concern would prolly be whether all the wiring, dashboads electrics, Rx8 meter cluster etc etc works after the transplant. But that in itself is fixable, will just take a lot of work (and a very good wireman).......

And i also agree with most of what david said..... I'm only thinking "bang for bucks", the amount of money needed to do all those mods will easily drive you into GTR 700bhp modding territory. Plus, i don't want to re-live those days where my RE spent most of its time in the workshop instead of in my garrage.

For now, nothing that will involve taking the engine apart. Bolt-on stuff will do just fine for now tq. Maybe somewhere down the road id dabble in more serious mods. Maybe even getting a tuned motor shipped from Japan (need to get it retuned to run in our climate). Till those days come, i'll be happy in the notion that ive learnt from my past mistakes and took my time to do mods on this one.........

i don't think the clusters will be a problem, keep the original ecu intact for abs/ac/clusters . and use a microtech to control the new engine .

 

btw, anyone know of a carbon fibre aftermarket side mirrors that can flip ? i saw the ganador cf one , petty nice but it can't flip

 

When you change the engine, the ecu must come along, thus your cluster will be completely useless liao, it cant make you Meters work even you're using Motec......

Then you have to worry about the driveshaft, it's not just plug and play...... And then who is experience enuff to do that here?? You bring in the US guys???

 

oh, there was a puerto rican guy with 20B installed in his vehicle, he kept the original ecu intact to control abs/ac/meter . and piggy back microtech lt12s to control the engine

i know the guys in sunway way before they were famous , all of them , including jaafar ... when jaafar is still learning from his sifu mr tur** s**** last time.

Hi bro,Thing can be simple.For me if i send my car to a workshop and know who is the shop sifu's wif more experience i will allow him to touch my car otherwise stay away from my car.Since i believed the shop sifu so much and if he let other ppl to do the job i really willl screw him up!!!Unless,i just need to change something like oil filter or engine oil otherwise...........Like what kean said workmanship is very important.Or why don't u send back ur car and ask them to re-do the thing and only ask for the sifu not those bangla!!!Not to say i look down them u know....i do really sympathy them and i buy coke and pay tips for those guys who wash my car at damansara last time and **** happen!Got 1 smart fella from other planet he use thinner to help me removed dirty thing from my front bumper OMG,forget to tell him that earth is very dangerous and pls go back to their planet......

as for lennon : there is the disc support reinforcement, basically the piece that holds your clutch in place, and the shaft . the upgrade can hold 800hp easilly. also they will reprogram your tcu as well , reinforce bout 4k+ , reprogram bout 3k+ . thats my cost, once i did it to my m3(which is now sold), the engine blew cause i overboosted it with a pulley upgrade. transmission was fine .. so i ended up fly a half cut m3 engine in, buy a new engine kosong block, machine back the engine number on it and then assemble then sold the car off.

if u want to modify conti cars u can ask me anytime la :P ,japanese cars i am a newbie.

btw, the money printing machine is at lennon's office, go ask him ..

also lennon , i can buy the apex seal , and i am getting some datasheets on how to build a rotary, if u got a spare engine we can experiment ourself, i can rebuild a mercedes v6 engine myself for god sake ... the M112 version . cause i rebuilt my own one for 2 times already, i melted piston once... i overboosted the supercharger... bad habit.
