I read with great interest the posts here as I will be getting my 8 this week or next. However, I am living in JB so hoping to be able to join your teh tarik sessions whenever I'm up in KL. The 8 i'm getting is 2003 auto type E, red in colour with 2 tone red+black leather interior with sun-roof + 18in bronze rims . No. most probably be JJH1168.

Nah, might want to check Motor Trader for prices. I got my auto 2003 at 200+ as comes with a few accessories. I saw somewhere that can get same year for 180k but with 16in rims, no leather etc. Manual ones, sorry, wasn't looking for it so don't know prices. Prices for already registered cars are slightly cheaper unless been moded.

 

Haha...welcome to the club U'r From JB ya...i also from Johor but not JB coz haven't get my new house at Jb.Is actually depent on the car spec.If the car come wif many spec like after market sport rim,body kit,ICE & etc....Of course is expensive lah.Think most of the car dealer now is taking year 2004 car seldom have 2003 gua.But for year 2003 car auto will be around 178k-185k.Manual is around 195k-20?k.As what i mentioned is depent of the car spec.unless u'r buying a brand new rx8.Anyway,mrhjb did u car come wif navigator?

 

Can anyone tell me how to play DVD wif our navigator except buying a after market head unit.Heard from our RX8 president(theshortshortman) tat it will work without change the after market head unit.i tot the navigator still can search for TV broadcast channel?can anyone help?and where is the president?think need to giv him a call again haha....think lennon don't know about tis coz he always change those after market thing

Hi, just bought rx8 before xmas... WMP4647. sliver, Japan spec. type E (most of the time in penang)

actually i hv some questions, hope somebody can give me a some opinion...

1. anyone knows where to service or check this car in Penang or northern area? (not dare to let anyone not experience to touch it.

2. anyone from penang?

3. the car bonnet and fender are very hot after a ride, cant even put my hand on it for few seconds. is this normal?

4. wat engine oil (fully syn., Semi or ??) is recommended or prefer for our 8?

5. the dvd rom cant even play a music cd, is this normal? its still under warranty by the seller, so i need to fix it and claim from him. anywhere recommended to do this job either pg or selangor is fine. (URGENT as the warranty is expiring soon)

Yohji, mine don't come with navigator. Don't think I need that but it also come with DSP off and auto cruise. So where in Johor r u from? Call me if in JB at 012-7868168. Can compare notes.

Walauehhhhh....... dont put me on the table lehh..... my car is just normal as yours.... heheh

 

1. I'm not from Penang, but servicing is just an easy job... any shop can do this...
2. I think should know now.... Boony is the taikor there....
3. It's veri normal... you can get vented bonnet to clear the heat...
4. Mobil 1, motul or castrol.... but expect it to be very black after 5000km..
5. How come there's a DVD player in RX8?? is it aftermarket or wat?? Go to any audio shop to troubleshoot for you...

 

It's normal. U cant play DVD on it, its just for ur Nav. I'm not sure if there's a way around it to play DVDs or CDs though..

 

I think sure have some solution to settle about this DVD player...let me go to find out 1st and let u all know tonight.

5. the dvd u have is for navigation purpose only. ( if it is located at the rear center console)

boony one more red 8 almost go kl modifie tha baby...i still dont know who itis...but just know he not chinese...ei this weekend can meet at e gate at call our out all driver with superrrrr car loh....sure oondc want to join....
oondc :i used the endless engine oil 15w-50..but is same dark after 5000km.... our 8 is hot hot staff.... so just wanna ask kean how to solve it,snail+ings more more big mountain volcano hot hot....you are from b'worth? number plate?colour?

bro i thought oil cooler helps a lot.... mine is in m'power dee hahha
