Come and say THAT to some of the big guys in Sweden, Germany, UK or Finland. If you watch the Power Strugle, or the various strength contests, you'll know what I mean

But I completely agree with you: its a completely different mentality, so we cannt actually be in each other's shoes and understand the opposite point of view....

You're gonna love this, talking about Yanks wanting it all. This story talks about how the average American home now has more cars than drivers. Go figger.

As much as I would like to respond with a :D smilie, the following remark highlights why the american society is VERY dangerous for this planet's survival:

The result is more daily trips to buy groceries or go to the mall. The average person in the United States takes four trips per day. Nearly half – 45 percent – are for shopping or errands.

I would agree with the quote about the 4 trips daily. How would yo contrast that to your culture?

I can talk about countries that I have experience with, and these are Greece, Belgium and UK. Well, in these countries, 4 trips per day can be considered the maximum for VERY few people. Even those that commute to their jobs daily, either car-pool, take a train/subway, and only in VERY few cases do they take their car.

For example, I used to drive my TII every day going to work when I was in Greece, since I can be considered a "car maniac", and even I would never make more than 2-3 trips per day. Now that I am in Belgium, I dont even have a car, and I dont even need one, because I can get everywhere by other means.

The worst people in Europe (regarding this issue) are the Germans and the British, and I think that they can verify my words. We (Europeans) are simply in a more "environment-friendly" frame of mind, and not because we have to.........
