Wonderful. I just found my source for the accents! Much better price than others I've seen.

Thumbs up strakes

I'm interested in a set of 4 of those strakes.

Ah ... Dalton, just up the road a bit. Place your order following the instructions here:

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=37845

The line is long and growing daily ... but I'm working on ramping more production. Gonna be showing some different colors soon too with maybe a little something extra ... thinking of a "chrome accent" on top of the color.

OK derwankel, I don't like being the first to try out things for my ride, but you're gonna make me come over there.

Anybody gotten these yet? I'm really interested in some sidestrakes in aluminum. I just want to make sure the quality is 100%.

Thanks,
Pete

Well, when I work on these parts I work out of my home ... don't think my wife would be too thrilled if I posted our address and an open invitation to just stop by. However, I'd be happy to meet you someplace and show you any parts you'd like to see, if our schedules permitted.

Hey Guys. Can I get brushed aluminum rotary accents or only polished? I'd like to have brushed aluminum to better match the insets in our headrests instead of the polished. Thx for the info and waiting to place my order

Hmmm .... that's gonna be a special finish one way or the other, but I'd need to pin you down more on the exact finish you seek. IMO, the headrests are not what I'd call "brushed" as that typically has fine lines in it. Rather they are more of a ghost aluminum or fogged aluminum. We can do something very similar, no problem. If you'd like, I can work up a sample, post some pics and try to show the difference between the "standard" finish we offer and what I'll refer to as ghost aluminum. They still would have the clear gloss on them, much like the inside front door handles.

Derwankel, do you send a confirmation email if you receive paypal payment? Because I sent a paypal for the oil cooler grills, but didn't get any e-mail in regards to availability/shipping. Thanks.

Al

I do send notices once I get the order added to this thread:

https://www.rx8club.com/dls-customs-closed-89/current-work-load-37875/

... which is on my list of todos tomorrow. I assume this is the order to Flushing, NY. Yes we have it. D Menac 7 is quoting ~ 3weeks to deliver oil cooler grills ... look for the confirmation e-mail tomorrow some time ... assuming Ivan does not interfere.

You are on the right track.....
can anyone give me some advice where I can get triangel shaped muffler tips? ( The tiny tubes are just ugly!)
A decent motortuning?? The chassis is good for 350 horses!
I will mount the European rear foglights - any chance to put the glowing RX8 emblem into it?
Will mount lower springs and ordered spacers 20mm from Eibach, never received. Experiences with that??
Thanks
RX9

Thanks Derwankel!! Yea, i checked the log and didn't see it, thinking that you didn't get the email from paypal (transaction problems, etc). But now that I know you got the order, I feel much at ease. Thanks again for the reply .

Do you have pics of the foglight strakes, but to where I can see the whole front of the car. Really interested in these.

I got my rotary accents in today.

They came in a very well packed box, the items looks great, and the front accent looks quite substantial

Thanks a lot, I would recommend you to anyone looking for accents.

I juist transferred the original thread of the pics to here: https://www.rx8club.com/dls-customs-closed-89/oil-cooler-grills-fog-light-accent-strakes-production-pics-38447/

This will show the Fog Light Accent Strakes and the Oil Cooler Grills that I have on installed on my VR RX-8. There is a front on shot there. These do not have to be installed together as there are two mounting methods, one without the OC Grills and one with the OC grills.

Here is a thread (recently moved to this forum) with a few pictures. Based on comments, I have made new strakes to fit lower on the vent, thus enabling them to be evenly distributed across the vent.

https://www.rx8club.com/dls-customs-closed-89/3-strakes-better-than-2-a-38926/

Currently they are in mold production. I hope to have some built by this weekend ... we'll see. Once complete I'll post pics of 3 per side with the new strakes in place.

I would like that very much actually. I've refrained from the RA because I just don't want more chrome on the car. But the ghost aluminum sounds like what I'm trying to explain and yes I would definitely still want the clear coating over it like you talked about here. I'll PM you as well; I"m kind anxious to get 'em :D

I think the best way to describe the silver color that is in the headlight lines (Strakes), door handles, head rests, center console and even the wheels is a non reflective aluminum or cast aluminum. This is the standard color of the fog light accent strakes. This matches so well that I did a test of two different silver colors on a scrap fog light strake and here is the result of the match to the wheel color. These were actually a silver and a light pewter. I wasn't sure if the wheels were a bit more towards the pewter until I put this up against them. I cannot tell the difference between the silver and the wheel silver.
