Saw an silver one the other day in Silver Springs, turns right, west-bound, at the corner after the Police Station... had a stock spoiler, moon roof... anyone from here?

I was too far to wave

 

Saw a white 8 coming out of Douglasdale (114th Ave). I waved and the driver looked a little confused :-) [would have been around 9:30am]

 

Yup yup, I'm new, and too poor to own an 8. Starving uni student for now heh
If the rx8 could transform, I'd consider stealing one


Saw another one today...
Silver one, heading east on Glenmore, at around 11 am

 

Saw a black one heading north on 2nd Street W, into the Eau Claire strip, yesterday at about 5:00 PM. I waved, and he gave me a WTF look.

 

wow there are quite a few Calgary RX8 owner here. Hopefully I can join this prestigious circle this coming Aug if all goes well :D

 

Passed a blue RX8 eastbound on Canyon Meadows drive at about midnight on Saturday. I waved an got a response. Anyone here??

 

Saw a black one on 16 ave heading east at around 3 something today.

 

So I was turning into Sunridge Mall off of 36St and there was a white 8 turning onto 36th. I waved but I don't think he saw. Asian driver and had orange corners and bone stock. Anyone?

 

Stock base silver parked in the loading zone outside Canterra Tower, about 11:15 or so. Anyone?

 

Saw a red 8 eastbound on Third Ave SW at about 6:45 AM today. I waved, but couldn't tell if the driver saw that.

 

Saw a v-red heading southbound on McLeod Tr between Glenmore and Heritage at 4:45 pm on Thursday. Blonde, female driver. Anyone here?

 

I keep seeing a V Red in that area too...besides mine. That's right around where I work.

Well, parking at the Dome is tough to find, and then I saw this great spot. A bit icy, but nobody would park next to me ...

 

Saw an Indigo in the Garrison Woods Safeway parking lot. Talked to the owner, who said only 16 were made for Canada. His looked pretty nice. Tan interior, MT, small spoiler on the back mounted flush to the trunk.

He's aware of this web site, but I didn't get a chance to find out his name.

 

^^^ Indigo?? You mean the Strato Blue? Not the Shinka is it? I wasn't aware that they were allowed or even made for Canada. Sure it wasn't imported from the UK or Asia?

 

From a distance, it looked black. Then I noticed that the part of the car that was directly in sunlight looked like a metallic purple. It was definitely darker than the one in that picture you posted. I realize now that the color isn't indigo, it's black cherry.

Just then the owner came out, and I talked to him about it. I asked him if it was a Shinka, and he said no. It had a tan leather interior, which looked really sharp. He said it wasn't imported; it was one of 16 that was made for Canada. He was originally going to buy a black one, but saw this one and really liked it.

^^^ Ha ha! That's what I thought! Maybe he didn't even know what a Shinka was. I think the spoiler you saw must have been the Euro lip spoiler, no?

 

It could have been. I'm not sure that that looks like. This one was flush to the trunk for the whole width. It almost wasn't visible. I prefer the stock spoiler.

I saw that car parked at the Old Gold's gym in Richmond by the Canadian Tire. At first I thought it was black. Color is not really my taste, or the Tan interior, however its still a very nice ride. It had a different spoiler, but like you I prefer the factory.

 

Mazda Canada never used the name 'Shinka' AFAIK, they might have called it a Special Edition. The interior is the same as the Shinka, with Parchment colour monochromatic seats (lighter beige, all one colour rather than black with inserts). An RX-8-internet-illiterate might not be aware of the Shinka name used in the US.

Now that I think of it, I had a couple of e-mails from a guy who bought one of the Canadian Shinkas in Calgary, I'll check later and see what he called it.
