Sorry, my fault... the track is booked from 5 pm on, and a couple of the Miata guys try to get there at that time to start setting up cones, so that is the official start time. I usually don't get there until just before 6, which is why I said I hope to spot a few RX-8s around 6!

I was, until my wife reminded me I have a Father's Day evening at my daughter's kindergarten. I really wanna go, but.. easy choice.

 

Saw a blue 8, northbound on 14th St W, coming up to 5th Avenue N, at about 5:35. I waved, but didn't get a response.

 

saw a ti grey heading north on crowchild this morning at 830ish , with a front license plate mount on (w/ no plate)

 

I saw a WB parked at Abruzzo's today at lunch. I walked because my office is so close.

 

That's the one on 4th Ave, right? Where do you work? I'm in Eau Claire, so we must not be too far away from each other.

 

So I'm zooming east on 32nd Ave NE (just past 52nd St) and I see a blue 8 in my side mirror ... so I slowed down to wave. Sure enough they waved back. A male driver on a cell phone (bad!) and female passenger. I think he had a GS cuz his headlights were regular and not xenon. Eventually turned into Pineridge. Anybody here?

 

Ok, so who is XHILAR8 (or something close)? Yellow with body kit, RX8Cub.com decal in side rear window? And what does the script decal say on the trunk?

Also, saw a TI with spoiler, in the McKenzie Towne traffic circle, I think maybe Monday 5pm, going out towards Deerfoot.

That is correct.

I work at Nexen, my 8 is parked in an ideal parking lot just west of the nexen building every day.

 

I was having a beer last night on the patio at Bass Brothers, near Mount Royal College, and saw:

1. a TiGrey, with no spoiler and with tinted rear windows
2. a Black, with a great wax job

Chinook Center parking lots on the theatre side today any time after 5:30(ish). A Titanium parked right beside me :-) Anyone here?

 

Pulled into a wash by on Richmond road beside a guy driving a Shinka....only talked for 30 seconds before he has to leave....I don't think he's on this board. That's the first time I've seen a Shinka in person. They really do look black in person.

 

Saw 3 Reds on the way to work today between 6:30 and 7:00 am; two northbound on Deerfoot and one at 5th and 5th SW.

Saw a blue yesterday at around 1:00 PM. It was southbound on Crowchild, just passing Kensington. I was northbound, on my way to the car wash. A bearded fellow was driving it. We checked each other's cars out, but didn't have time to wave.

 

Saw a blue RX8 headed eastbound on Glenmore turning southbound on 14th street at 7:50 am this morning

 

Do RX8s in Edmonton count, I have seen one, mine!!!!!!!!!!!

 

After getting my new (free) brake pads and rotors, I pulled onto 16th Ave to take the 8 for a test spin. Saw another Ti eastbound, with Alberta plates, open sunroof, and a female driver, but I couldn't get up close enough to wave.

Then, I ended up following another Ti down Deerfoot today, onto westbound Glenmore. Male, bearded driver. His is a GT with the rotary accents but no tinting. I pulled up alongside, rolled down my window, and we each yelled "Nice car!" at the other.

Are either of these people on this site?

 

I saw a cursed French Titanium Silver at the Big Bucket at 9:20....he yelled out nice car as he drove by.

 

Visiting Calgary for the Stampede from Vancouver.. Saw a sunlight silver MS kit, stock spoiler, turbo kit.. parked at 17th Starbucks on Sunday. wow! these are street legal in alberta? ^^ msg me pls!

How could you tell it had a turbo kit? MS Kit with stock spoiler ... why :-) If I had my choice again (went with standard Mazda accessories - pretty well everything they had at the time) I would have gotten the entire MS package including the spoiler ... sweet! Yes they're legal here :-)

PS: My boss from Vancouver tells me that he doesn't see to many RX8's on the road, can you confirm/deny this rumor.

 

darn ^^;; here in vancouver.. front license plate must be on.. no engine mods of any kind.. i don't even know if aluminum wings are legal because of visibility.

ya, it had 4 gauges in the center dash, and i checked for the intercooler in the front dam.

there's not a whole lot of 8's around here at all.. in the area where i work is the highest concentration, i see 1 or 2 parked in a certain spot every day, but were it not for those two, i only pass them maybe once or twice a week on the road
