'Sighted' by an OPP cruiser at Markham Rd and 401 E tonight 10:00 ish. Roof lights, siren the whole ball of wax. I pulled onto shoulder, flashers on and walked back, licence out of my wallet. "So, how do you like it? " Thought he meant being pulled over... but his grin set me straight. Young, Japanese Canadian maybe 25-27.. long conversation about my opinion of Mazdas, the RX-8, and in particular the MPV which he is considering. "Oh, I guess I'd better give you a reason.. just making sure you weren't some punk kid in his Dad's ride."
Wished each other a Merry Xmas. As I was walking back to my 8, he called out, "Floor it when you see it's safe to pull out. You know how to do that eh? I clocked you at 146."

A few minutes later, got off 401 at Westney to do a quick shop at a 24 h Sobey's. Loading the trunk and a black 1999 Integra GS came over and stopped. Two young blond chicks..maybe 18-20 .. "Great car! etc. etc. " MM, nice, but.. hell I'm their Grandpas' age.... dammit.

All in all, gotta love my Lightning Yellow

apaul - speeding..in a 8...how could you :p . It's good to know that the OPP are looking for us 8 drivers . This just reminds me when I was caught by a radar gun going 10 over the speed limit on a major street. The officer asked me to shut off the car, and I couldn't I just start her up not too long ago and the engine wasn't warmed up yet, so I had to explain why..in my mind...I'm so utterly screwed!...then he looks into the car, as he tells me I was going over 10 of the limit, I appologized and he said nice car, and let me go with a grin. All in all, apaul has the best cop story yet for the 8 I've seen...er, read here thus far.

BTW saw a silver two days ago along Lesmil Rd, hey that's near my office. I waved, they gave that, who the heck is that guy and why is he waving at us look...

An actual spotting: V.Red. Cummer & Bayview. Followed him over to Leslie. Nice twisty route.. At the light, he turned north , I went south. I honked and waved as we were both turning.. a little startled, but he waved back. Think it was Tuesday the 7th around 8:00 pm. Plate surround said Whitby Mazda...I know what I was doing.. night deposit at the good old Credit Union. :D

 

It's been about 3 months since I've seen another RX-8 outside the meets we have, today I saw a red one at Woodbine Mall on the cinema side at about 2:00PM during lunch. The red looked MUCH darker then normal for some reason.

saw a yellow one 401 travelling east between Markham road and Kenndy last night 5:XX pm. I was driving my wife's 3. I look up, there's bright headlights in my rearview mirror, i say to myself, I bet it's an 8," then it went into the right lane and flew by.

Nothing for 3 months then another! That's 2 days in a row now and it was Silver driving on Matheson Ave close to orbiter drive around 9:30am this morning.

 

Funny, before buying my Red RX8 GT last month I seldom saw them, now they seem to be everywhere . Becoming a very popular car in the west , can't wait to get into the mountains to see if I can find a few more:p

 

And another. This time a black one was parked just outside the landing strip entrance when I left on Friday night about 10:30pm. No I don't frequent these places just bring our U.S. corporate guys there when they come up.

Saw one today (sunday Dec 19 @ about 2:30PM going west bound on Queensway near IkEA. Red with the stock rims still on it! Looked like Kart Racer for a brief second but there was no rear spoiler so it must be someone else.

december 24 9.30 pm, in New york City, a dirty red RX-8 on 56th going east and crossing fifth avenue.

30 seconds laters, another RX-8, grey, very clean going south on fifth avenue between 56th and 55th.

Dec 31/04 2 sightings: Around 5PM a Yellow 8 with aero flares driving down Martin Grove. Around 10:30PM Red with Spoiler and flares going on Stanley Road in Niagara Falls, probably parking in LOT 1 (Gamblers are familiar with Lot 1!)

 

January 4th.... 7:30ish am 401 westbound by Nielson in Scarberia.... Red 8.... beautiful.

Pete, my kids in the back seat were drouling and going nuts when they saw your car. Yellow is just so rare and is a treat to see on the move to be sure.

 

Was driving westbound 407 at Bayview, spotted a red one heading east around 12:45pm.

 

Spotted a Titanium Grey 8 at the Erin Mills Mazda last Thursday. It was there for the SSP#61, but didn't get it done, cause the computer didn't work! That was the reason i came in too, but I left once they told me they couldn't perform the service.

 

Saw a yellow one on Jan3, 2004 at Erin Mills. He wasn't aware of this site. He said he was going to join up. I'm the guy with the red 8

 

wow i never knew there were so many 8's in mississauga... i think i've only seeen 1 in the last month.. i'm the titanium grey near erin mills...

 

I think you and I passed each other once on Winston Churchill below the 403 one morning in the late summer. Did you ever have a healight burned out at one time a few months ago? Also saw a titanium grey like yours going west on Unity one morning, again in the late summer/early fall around 7 AM or so.
