Oil Pan made of steel or aluminum?

Guys, I need a quick answer to a simple question. I did a lengthy search on here and didn't find my answer. Is the oil pan on a 2007 RX-8 made of steel or aluminum? The reason I am asking is that I saw this magnetic heater thingy that I am considering to buy and magnets don't work on aluminum.

I used a stick-on 250watt pad on my stock pan, there's not much room for magnets under there.

magnets dont work on aluminum????!!!??? this is news to me. lol. i kid.

anyways, the oil pan sits relatively low, if you do decide to get this magnetic heater (which sounds weird) you have to make sure the wires are tucked up nicely, it will only take a little bump of snow to take that off. i would suggest a stick on one if anything. Ive heard those stay put no problem.

On-topic question....

Are you folks just heating the oil, or do you have in-line coolant heaters as well?

EDIT:

re-phrasing..... "Is your aftermarket plug-in oil heater sufficient for protecting the block from freezing, or are you also supplementing this with an in-line rad hose (or heater hose) plug-in heater?" Also, are you plugging in battery blankets?

TIA. (this isn't for me on the balmy wet coast, but for a friend in SK that I've been talking to about 8's.)

their heating the oil, plug in when you come home, plug off when you leave home, just gets the temp up to running temps faster. I don't think it's worth it in the GTA, out west, ya.

Where does one purchase this stick-on heating element?

Yeah, I've had a block heater in every car I have owned except this one. I have never used them though.

My cobalts block heater wouldn't evenwork unless the temp was below -18
