I stopped in at Can-saf in oshawa today and told them about the cruise. They wanted more info that i'll take them tomorrow. They said they might send someone to the cruise and seemed pretty interested in representing themselves. I hope no one minds, I thought having a rotary mech there would be cool. These guys have been around for a while, one guy has an 8, and someone there has a 1988ish three rotor 7. They are also racing a speed 3 so they might have some good knowledge to share.

I do mind. The least they could do is come on the forum, say hello and sign up here on the thread.

Rdiep, thanks for the invite, but i think i'll just sit this one out if i cant drive myself. Im able to drive for like 10 hours straight without issue, but i cant handle being in the passenger seat for more than about an hour. Thanks anyways.

And yeah scott i was really looking forward to hanging out again. Im sure i'll be around, my new car is terribly fuel efficient , so i wont have any excuse for missing any sort of meets (or track days) if you guys will still have me.

I was going to keep my new car a suprise, just to catch the look on everyones face when came to a rotary car meet with a car that advertises how many cams it has right on the quarter panel. lol. Anyways, its a 2002 honda Civic SIR hatch. pretty rare in this neck of the woods. i've only seen one in the tri city area here. It was a trade in at the dealership and such a wicked price i just couldnt pass it up.

Ive been trying to get out of my rx8 for a while now and this is the perfect chance for me. I'll still have a fun, responsive car. but its a good compromise and i will be getting quite a chunk of cash back from the deal trading my 8 in.

The car has alot of things i like, electric power steering for one. it has the same weight and feel to the wheel of the rx8, albiet with torque steer....lol
the seats are also alot like the rx8s, they actually have a somewhat roundish triangular cut out like the rx8s do. haha.
I has a close ratio 5 speed gearbox in it that i thought i would love...but it takes some getting used to. redline comes up extremely fast, especially when you are used to 9 grand and now are locked down to about 6800rpm...none the less, it takes small (therefore cheap) tires, cheaper brakes....87 octane and goes quite far per tank. I'll always miss the 8, but i still have an rx7 to tinker with anyways.

And like i said, hopefully you guys wont mind me tagging along to some track days to see how much performance i have actually given up. haha.

I really wanted to see you guys but I can't make the trip.
But that's why I didn't sign up in the first place. I did try to make this work but there was just no way for me to be there.
If fortune smiles on me I'll join you for lunch

Greg,

You've joined Civic Nation, huh? lol
We understand man.. you can't overlook life. It tends to get in the way.

I've been following the weather, and up here in Aurora it's not too bad. But I've heard it was raining all along the West side of the city the entire day.

I really hope the weather gets better for tomorrow.
Hopefully see you guys tomorrow...

It's raining, it pouring. The old man's been snoring.
Rain, rain go away, come back on Monday! The best thing about the weather is you'll not have to wash your car!
But it will be a balmy 14° C hope it's a good turn-out.

That's right, you don't need winter tires today! See you all there
At the meet point, please see me when you arrive to sign in.
If you've never met me before, I'm the guy with the clipboard.

Sorry guys, I got to work.
Plus I just woke up, I'm jet lagged and not feeling well.

Not mention I need to be back at the airport for 6am tomorrow to head back to San Fran....

I'll be doing the SFO thing for the rest of the year at the very least maybe all on 2011 .....

Thanks Footman for all your hard work, I sincerely apologize for bailing.

The weather outside is horrendous.
Can't see anything.
I was considering going, but when the weather is like this, its not worth it.
Sorry Andrew. Hopefully the turnout works out. But I think I'll be able to get a few things done now at home since the weather is ****.

Sorry guys.

If you can, take a few pics. I know it won't be too well, but at least it'll be something.

I apologize again.

Sweet job with organizing footman- I loved the official touch with handing out all the maps haha.

The photos I took from the GoPro aren't the best lol, its really hard to figure out how far to stand because it doesn't have a view finder and its a fish eye lens basically lol - umm I'll see how it looks and if its post worthy.

The video on the other hand is good - I'm just trimming it down to make it more watchable!
