New Engine Club

I am getting a new engine under the 8/160 plan.

Does it seem reasonable that I should pay for the decarb and compression tests on the old engine?

Thanks Guys

I wouldn't either. But we're not allowed to shoot people here in Canada

Maybe in Alberta

I wouldn't pay either...Call Mazda Canada and ask them why the dealer is charging you to diagnose a warranty repair

I know you definatly shouldn't have to pay for the compression test if the results came back failed as it is then part of the warranty. The de-carb on the other hand...

I think everything up to the failed compression test is at your expense (coils, plugs, cat, etc.).

The decarb was covered by the "engine lack of power" TSB, but I paid for the compression test.
