Hello! It's Captain freakin obvious!!!!

Would have been better done at the track, with actual times if you are doing a factual comparison. You told us nothing that we didn't know already. No hard facts as to say how much faster the MT is over the AT.

Ya thats right, we all did know it but considering that the track was closed and we had little to work with i think we answered "our own question" So if you have your heart set on reading the numbers, then pick up a sales catilog and compare them!

Yes yes, missed second gear, right Sham, Dan was wondering is that sweet sweet sounding cold air intake he put under his hood really gave him that 10 extra horse power. So we lined up and had a go. If he did not miss his second gear he would have had me by a long shot. Dan, ever since that, Im really considering putting one in mine:D

Helas, I am dissappointed in you for 2 reasons: WE sent you to Belleville with a special pirpose: To take on the heavy weight champion, Danielson. And what do you do? You let him beat you off the line. We thought we sent GTA's best? Maybe you were off or something. However, even more important is that when Dan missed the shift, you didn't even have the courtesy to allow him to win since he was the host!!! Where are your manners man?

We may have to think twice before we send you on another special assignement

I am actually so happy you guys had a good time and I really wished I could have joined you. At least you know my heart was in the right place when I met you and Mic for breakfast before you left.

I'll try to join you guys next time. With a wife and 3 kids, I have to be selective on which road trips I choose! :p

sham, Your right. but to be honest with you, I was hpoing that Dan was gonna win. He had put this expensive air intake in his car which is soposto give you 10 more horse power and if he had lost I think he would have felt as if he wasted his money. Ya kow what i mean. and on the other hand, I won and and represented the GTA. So, This doubble 0 agent is ready to take on eny and every assignment which is thron this way.:D

Weak excuse, but satisfactory for now. You're still in the good books and assignments will be handed to you in the regular fashion.

Why they hell didn't they line up and do it again after he blew the shift? That's not a fair comparison, and it's not like they were going for pink slips :-)

I did miss the second gear and not only once but twice !! I never race the 1/4 mile before with the RX8 and being on the spot doesn't help either ! The young punk like Helas (nintendo generation) have that in their blood...but I will try it again for sure, this time I will kick ***, anyone's up to the challenge ? :D
Helas, I am happy that you are thinking of getting the typhoon K&N, check for the best price and check it out with me before buying...I have some good price overhere for it.
Sham, rumours want that you may be the man to beat when it comes to racing ?
I can't wait for the next meeting, hope many more NEW RX8 wil show up this time around ??
Have a nice day everyone

Danielson, I am not the man to beat. I am the man to de-throne!

Just kidding.

Actually I don't like the 1/4 mile runs because 1) of the excessive tire stripping and sudden strain on the drive train, because I will push it to the max when I get excited 2) I don't the 8's durability/capability well enough to get the kind of launch I would like 3) The wheel hop on my particular 8 is a bitch. So I prefer a rolling start say 5-100MPH, at least getting well into 4th if the space is available. If you want to run that way the next time we meet "at a track" , I am game.

Dan the kit may have worked for you but has not for many others. In fact I mwanted to buy one after you told me you were happy, so I wrote K&N to ask why people are complaining and there response exactly: " Hello,

Thank you for your interest in K&N products. Mazda had changed the mapping of the ECU part way thru a model run and at times this change with the intake kit had a negative affect on the drive ability of the vehicle at certain RPM levels. We do not know when or how to identify the mapping change.

If you purchase any K&N product and you are not completely satisfied, you are welcome to return it to place of purchase for a refund of the purchase price (Proof of purchase required).

Thank you,

Leon S. Collins

K&N Technical Support"

If anyone needs a copy of this e-mail, let me know and I'll forward it to you.

Sham, now that would be something to see, you vs Dan = one hell of a show! I'll race the winner:D Looser buys the pints! Oh ya and, what size is that throne of yours? I'm wondering if it will fit in my livingroom in front of my t.v. hehehehe
