Bulb in clear corner (Ontario, Canada law) and 194 corner bulb clearance

According to this:
http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/sta...08_e.htm#BK110

Subsection 62. (1) of the Highway Traffic Act states that it's okay for us to use white LEDS in the corners! I guess I can get rid of my stealth amber corners now finally and switch to white.

You guys that are about to do your group LED buy can do so as well.

On the other subject of bulb clearance, I have measured using the OEM corner, and the longest you bulb you could put in is approx 33mm measured from the base of the bulb (including the electrical contacts). In otherwords, the total length should be no more than 30mm. If you are using a flange LED bulb, because of it's narrow design, you maybe able to get a little more, around 33mm in total length.

note that I used the OEM side marker to measure. The JDM clear corner is bulged, and I don't remember whether the bulge is just thicker plastic on the outside shaped that way (thus the same inner clearance), or it is actually shaped that way, which would mean the inner clearance is more (+ 5mm)

This should help you decide which 194 bulb you would like to use from VLED.com. Their products all have dimensions in their specifications.

Also, I want to confirm with everyone that FLANGE LEDS will work in our corners.
The way the bulb harness is inserted and locked into the corner marker housing; it is inserted in a 45 degree angle relative the ground and snaps clockwise another 45 degrees. Thus the flange bulb when locked in sits exactly 90 degrees relative to the ground (i.e. facing exactly towards the side.

I had mine changed out for about 2 years now, and no problems from the police, even when they pull up right next to me.

I have the 5 LED refractor type LED's in my clears. Remember to pull out the reflector in your Clear corners, if you dont it will only light half of the marker.
