I was figuring leaving around 8ish from Ajax just after I pick up my friend. How do you go to mosport from your place, 401 or back roads?

I was going to say, let the RX-7's lead the pack. The majority of them have had their cars for awhile, and know how to get around the track quickly.

I made the mistake of being in the middle of the RX-8 pack. Nothing more fustrating than trying to pace a slow RX-8 driver. With no permission to pass, it's extremely aggrevating!! lol

Do it right, and you'll be able to get around the track at least 5-6 times. However, if everyone seems to leave big gaps, or aren't taking the corners fast enough, you'll be lucky to see 3 laps.

I still have my fingers crossed for nice weather!

Neo, that's exactly what I had in mind. I should have explained my statements more clearly to prevent such negative feedback from other members.

Yes you should, and you should also come to real track days instead of complaining about "slow" drivers in a parade event.

That said, with that logic of fastest "cars" being leading the pack...maybe Rx8 guys can stay behind Rx7, Mazdaspeed 6, AND Mazdaspeed 3 folks...alright I am just joking.

but oh wait..its true for Mosport! Once after turn 5 its game over for rx8 on the back straight lolz

I'm not complaining, I'm just making a statement. You guys all need to chill out and stop being on the offensive so much...

I make a statement, and everyone jumps on it with the fact that I should go on a real track day. Of course I'd like to, but I have other higher priorities to spend my finances on at the moment (i.e. cracked windshield) amongst other greater goals in life. If I have spare money I would definitely hit it up at the track.

Because I make a statement about the speed of a parade lap, those that have responded jump on me like hot shots with your "vast track experience". I am not here to try to be a show off with my limited track experience and daily driving abilities by saying that "I should move faster. What I'm saying is, "We can move faster"

I do understand that it is a parade lap; but a parade lap around Mosport doesn't mean it has to be that slow. Again speed is subjective and relative to experience of the track, driving skills, and experience in the handling of the RX-8. All these parameters define what is considered "a comfortable and yet fun experience" for each individual driver.

Having said that, last year, the pace was set by Al's Mazdaspeed 6 followed by a random assortment of rx-8's and rx-7's and a nissan 240sx that was behind me; in no particular order. This is not optimal because of the power of the cars mixed in. I mean for sure, there is still the possibility that an rx-7 driver is poor in skill and have no track experience and would be slowing down, but we are minimizing that chance. As Neo put it, chances are the RX-7 cars will be faster around the track.

I am here asking the organizers to optimize the arrangement a bit to better maximize the fun factor of the parade lap. Since this year, it is a Mazda Only event, I propose to put the RX-7's ahead, followed by the RX-8's, then the Mazdaspeed 3's, MX-5's, and then the 3's.

As for the comment on NVX, I could not believe that none of you interpreted that as a joke. Even NVX knows that...

footman, no one said anything about track experience man. my point is that this is a fun run, not a push your car to the max and see how fast you can go. Lets say everyone from every club that said they were coming shows up, it will be crowded, and im just worried that someone thinks this is race day and bumps someone elses car. also, riding someones *** because you want to go faster is not a good idea. that person could feel pressured to pick up their pace and make a mistake (haha, everyone from the may 1st shannonville event knows who im talking about). this has nothing to do with any sort of experience or skill level or power of the cars. if you want to take turns faster, sacrafice some speed on the straights and leave a gap. You have made many comments and spoken very strongly about this to the point where i hope to god you arent behind me.

Footman, when more than 3 guys refuting on what you said in this thread, maybe you can take a look at your own posting style in this thread. No one here claims to be hot shots with "vast track experience". Its the delivery of your message that causes all these hostile responses.

I understand your attempt to "maximize" fun for everyone, but your way of delivering this message is definitely not effective. Repeatedly making such demand just makes you look like a dick.

Now, the organizer will definitely take last year's experience as reference and arrange the ride order accordingly.

Calm down.

BTW, I got 25 hot italian sausages and 25 mild italian sausages... I'll mix them up so it'll be a random affair for people when we grill them.

My typing style and my speaking voice are completely different in tone. Perhaps it's not out of the ordinary for people to misinterpret what I'm saying by reading what I write. I am more business-like when I write because I don't like to write a lot of unnecessary statements to get the point across.

Make no mistake though, I am certain that an ordered arrangement in any circumstance will both look better for photographers and be more fun for everyone in comparison to a random ordering of vehicles.

Andrew: thanks for getting the sasauges dude!

I picked up the BBQ and all the equipment yesterday and will buy some gas for it today.

As for the back and forth going on in here... please don't. This Thread is already starting to get pretty long. If you don't like something that someone else said... just keep it to yourself for now.. at least until the event is over.

Thanks

Make sure you print out the CASC free ticket and bring it with you, otherwise you might have to pay admission fee at the door:

Sorry for the late reply to this but I'm bringing some sausages, egg buns, snacks, case of water and some zucchini relish. That and 4L of oil, a bottle and a half of trans and diff fluid, jack, two jack stands and bunch of tools laying around.

I have to prepare for at least someone to break down and odds are it's going to be me.
