Anyone bought Axial Flow SS in Canada?

What were the fees once it has gone through the border, duties and tax?

Do you like it? I've read that people with stock shifter had problems shifting or missed shifts. Haven't experienced that. I find that the stock shifter on my '06 SE is pretty good. The only gears that are pretty rough, can't shift smoothly, is when going into 5th and 6th.

I'm reading a bit about the shifter and all the praise that it is getting. Not sure though - is it that much better than stock?

Thanks.

I have the AFE Short Shifter. I was thinking the same as you before got mine installed ("it's can't be that much better then stock") but really it's worth it.. It's a bit shorter and the shifts are much harder to miss, but the main thing for me is that it simply feels a lot better. You'll never forget that you have it installed. It's the mod that keeps on giving.

Best mod I have done so far. I enjoy it more then the light weight flywheel which is easy to forget that you have it installed after a week of driving with it.

The AFE Short Shifter is well worth it, for me anyhow.

Agent008, since it's your fault that I am buying the short shifter, will you be able to help me install it? Maybe we can have an "Install Meet".

when is the next meet, and would you guys be interested in a FF3 meet in GTA?

p.s. stay away from srt-4's they are alot faster

Well, just ordered mine. I hope it is as good as everyone is saying it is.

I thought the factory shifter was pretty good. Haven't missed a shift so far - when you have a 6-speed, you have to shift/hold your shifter differently to make sure you don't miss the 6th and go into 4th instead (palm facing out - I usually do it for the 5th as well).

Sure.. It's quite easy and I can now do the install in 15min easy.. The hardest part is popping off the console.

Just don't drop any tools.. I did that and it took me 1hr to find a way to get a socket out from under the parking brake.

Let me know when you want to install it and we can meet at D&B.. That way you can re-pay me for the install work by treating me to a game of "Ferrari 355".

I don't know about a meet on the FF3 night in the GTA. All the 16 year olds will be out in their parents cars trying to Drift. I don't want to have the Rx8 around on that night, drive a beater.

BTW - i don't post my races but my kills include 05TL auto, G35 (highway), X5 4.8is, 99Max (modded), 05Altima (auto), TT (225hp), 99 TL,

I had a notch that I would hit sometimes going from 2nd to 3rd.. It was a real bitch when racing SRT4's like TLovr loves doing.

With the AFE shifter the notch is gone.. Now the only time I miss a shift is when I don't quite move the shifter enough before dropping the clutch (just being stupid and trying to shift faster then I can move my hand).

If you want any assistance with the install, let me know.

Thanks for the offer. I've looked through the DIY and it looks ok. Once I get the shifter, I'll see if the install is for me. Otherwise, I'll take you up on your offer.

Edit: Better yet, let me know when you are meeting up with DarkBrew. If I can make it, maybe you can do two at the same time.

And now it's installed with help from Agent008.

It was worth the wait!

I got mine almost three weeks ago, but didn't want to mess with it before we went on vacation. Will try this week.

Hi

Dead thread batman...just wondering if anyone of you still having this mod?

I know this will be my first mod...(the best mod ever) from my previous experience in short shifters...

The stock one is good but its PITA to shift from fifth to sixth. When I was trying to "limit <4k rev" for my first 600miles breakin, I end up in neutral with 8k rpm lol

Just to confirm, all installation is done IN the "Cockpit" right? Yes I am calling it a cockpit 'cause I feel like taking off all the time when I am driving now god damn!

Someone please punch me to wipe the smile off my face...

I still have the AFE shifter and I still think it's the best mod for the $ you can do to the car.
No issues going from 5th to 6th and keeping revs down (trying to save gas.)

Yes, all installation is done in the cockpit. Follow these instructions, and you'll get it done quickly, and without breaking any of those fiddly little clips.
