well the car sit in the garage for two day over the weekend today when i was heading out it wont start~!!! the battery work fine the motor crank but the engine is just not starting~
anyway i will tell u guys how it go~~

 

tried the flooded engine startup procedure ?

 

after i post the message I search the forum and use the Flood Engine procedure... well after some time crank it and servral time it finally start... took me like 15 min...
anyway lots and lots of smoke came out and after the car star i rev it a bit cuz i can hear the engine is not yet running smooth..
well after couple rev then it is fine and i shut down the engine and this time start it with not a problem~

 

I think after restarted from a flooded engine, it's good to go drive around a bit, once the engine gets warm up do a couple of hi-revs to get the oil out of the engine.

 

yeah, afai, please go for a good hard drive for no reason other than the health of your car: put it through its paces (hit redline a few times) for a good half an hour before putting it away (with ample time to cool off after a tough run like that).

 

I have had the same problem twice now. It it tales about 15 minutes and lots of black smoke after it starts

 

That's probably what caused you to flood the engine in the first place. Under normal circumstances you are ALWAYS supposed to bring the engine up to full operating temp. before shutting it off.
(i.e. if you start it to move it, then let it idle for 5 minutes) Check the "Short Trip" section of the manual insert you were supposed to get.

As for starting up after a flood... absolutely take the car out for a hard run. (See my post here about clearing the CEL at 160km/h).
You are only hurting the engine more not burning all that stuff out of there.

 

Hummmm, mine is sleeping for the winter , starting to wonder what awaits in the spring.... Think I should start it some time during its hibernation and letting run for 30 minutes to an hour, or just wait t'ill spring and hope for the best...

No! Just let the car sit.
You will do way more damage starting it up and just idling it then you will letting it sit.
Besides, if it will start a month from now, it will start 3 months from now (assuming your battery is charged that is.)

At idea the oil doesn't get hot enough to burn off the dirt and moisture that is created, so you'll just be flowing that through your engine..

 

Never put a car in hibernation, but based on experience with boats, there are certain things you need to do to prevent varnish build up. Some type of fuel stabilizer is needed. I strongly suggest doing some research and quickly becoming an expert on warehousing cars. I believe there's a lot of issues to consider.

 

You should never let a rotary sit for prolonged periods. There is always carbon, oil, and fuel remaining in the combustion cambers. Also, moisture condenses inside the engine and may cause corrosion (I've seen this happen in my FC). If you let the motor sit this residue may make the seals stick. You will lose compression temporarily until they unstick but when this happens you will have a hard time trying to start the car. If you don't want to start the car, then at least rotate the engine by hand/wrench.

 

Now where do I do that....

 

Take a ratchet and 19mm socket (I think) and rotate the engine clockwise from the ecccentric shaft nut. Located on the main pulley at front of engine. (not sure if you guys have enough room to do that).
