Warranty work - sticky?

replacing the car just cuz the brakes squeel which seems to be semi-normal? ridiculas..... obviously that person has too much money to waste.

Taking off the leading edge of the pad slightly can help with the brake squeals! I prefer to change down rather than brake!
No but seriously the WD did this to my car and it's made all the difference.

just to follow up on that warranty work stuff, i went to GWS after being reccomended by Kall and had my car looked at cos its got the shakes. (and its not my car afraid of me getting behind the wheel). Its engine mounts are cactus and need replacing. Cos its a 2003 model its of course out of warranty. So they are trying their best to fix it under warranty. More to come....
My warranty work:
1. spark plugs replaced twice
2. start motor
3. brake pads twice
4. engine mounts
5. leather retrimmed on my drivers seat
6. the sliding lid compartment broke, needed to replace the sliding thingos
7. steering rack replaced! (new!)
8. squeeky seat fixed (i never noticed it myself.. they said they did)
think thats about it. no real complaints with my dealer, very happy with the service, infact half the time they the 1s telling me I need these warranty jobs... i didnt even realise the engine mounts needed replacing until last fri...lol

As it stands today, I have the following issues that will be looked at by my dealer
1. Squeaky driver's seat/door
2. Excessive vibrations during AC on/idle
3. Faulty headlight auto level sensor on the driver's side
The seats in my RX8 have chips/scratches on the front seatback covers too (the plastic bits), near the headrests where the belts come in contact with the seatback covers.
I don't think this is a wear and tear issue, more like a design flaw. (2007 RX8s have leather seatback covers)
Are the seatback covers replaceable under warranty?
MissyK, why did they retrim the leather seats in your car?

you do realise that the drivers side is intentionally lower than the left side so you dont blind oncoming drivers and the left one is higher so you can see signposts and the such?
if the levels are drastically different, yuou can get a screwdriver and adjust them yourself

Your logic makes sense but I think mine is faulty, the driver's side sits quite low (low enough that it won't even blind Lamborghini drivers).
I drove my friend's Accord Euro before and his lights are level. Didn't cause anyone any harm at all and I think it looks better aesthetically.
Maybe I should meet up with you and compare notes, Drew.
Andy, what is aesthetically pleasing to you isnt necessarily what the car is supposed to be like. Drew is spot on that the Aus spec cars come standard with the drivers side lower. If you dont like it, be prepared to pay someone to adjust it.
As per the otehr thread on TSBs, there is a US TSB on the seat back issue, but be prepared for it to be a wear and tear issue in Aus. As I said in the other thread, what Mazda NA have decided is warranty work doesnt mean Mazda Aus have as well.
The idle issue sounds like Engine mounts and is a legitimate warranty issue. What year is your car? This was supposed to be fixed in 06 and above cars.
Cheers
Andrew

heyyyyyy, does anyone who replaced their engine have any aftermarketing parts on?
My car is in the dealership right now too cuz it stalls quite often, even more than twice a day, and i also feel a big lack of power when driving and the car became really not smooth....and the service guy told me if the problem is because of your intake, then you will need to pay the engine yourself which is 5100 dollars......
what do you guys think?

Laws are different between Aus and Canada but in general, the dealer must be able to prove the modification was responsible. An air intake is, I guess, is a possibility, but I would be making them identify the actual problem. Dont just accept them saying the problem is because of the air intake.

I may mistook the intentional headlight design as a problem, but the current level sensor is genuinely faulty.
We've taken pictures of the seat and they will be assessed by Mazda for warranty purposes.
The idle issue will be looked at again this coming Thursday.
My car is a June'05 model.

If its not the mounts its the throttle body that needs cleaning.

Auzoom, it is a faulty auto level sensor connector.
As per this North American TSB.

Will let you know how Mazda will approach the design flaw issue on their seats.
It's no wonder that 2007 models have the leather wrapping all the way back to the seatcovers.
And I will look at the mounts this evening when I get home.
Thanks for the weblinks and tips, mate! Much appreciated!

I have just had my 1000k first service. I happened to mention to the dealer that a few tiny sections of the front left wheel had minor blemishes. (about 6 or 7 spots the size of match heads ) .It seems the clear finish did not "take" properly. The dealer here in Ballarat forwarded photographs to Mazda and they have advised they are forwarding a replacement wheel this week. I took a very layback approach and did not tell them what I expected them to do. I simply waited to see what the response would be before I contemplated pounding the service counter. I am very happy with their handling of this minor issue.
