Maybe it was a thief?

In the UK (back in 1997), I've pulled up at lights next to a obviously still new Audi A4 to see 3 obviously mid-teens as the only occupants. Immediately tried covering their faces with hats, coat collars. So whilst we're still sitting there I dial 999 on my car phone. They see me calling someone on phone.
As soon as lights go green the A4 accelerates away and turns off down a side road, I follow at what I judge to be a safe distance...A4 comes to a halt by a side entrance to a shopping centre and all 3 occupants run into the shops.
I stop behind the now abandoned A4, engine is still running, but no keys in the ignition. All the time I'm on the phone to police who eventually turn up about 5 minutes later.

Wow, just picked my car up from the dealer after its 30,000k service. Another 8 - Black waiting to be picked up, too. Never seen it before.

Then, driving back to my office along the Monaro Hwy, saw the police flashing lights ahead, so immediately switched driver control to "ABB" (absolute best behaviour) and passed police car to see that he was booking -- a black 8, this time with a rear wing, couldn't see no. plate, but suspect it was a member here (not pepe) as it also had non std wheels.

Finally, just near my office in Giles St Kingston, another black 8, this time with green personalised plates.

I think that's a trifecta :p

 

I saw you again this morning about 8.55 am this time. You were heading onto Jubilee on the hook off Wardell St. I was coming the other way.

You won't see me too often as I am normally in the city by 8.30 - last few days have been doing the school run whilst off recovering from the flu.

Damn, everytime I saw an RX-8 in flesh I get the urge to go down the dealership and do some hard negotiating (but self-preservation with the wife kicks in).

 

Got a big thumbs up from a black rx8 along the highway near mermaid , i have seen 3 black rx8 in the last 2 days .

i think this car is not as rare as before
i guess i need to change cars lol jk

Up here in Sydney's North it seems like hardly a day goes by when I don't see other 8's. There's a couple of blacks I see around Bilgola Plateau and Bayview, another black that's frequently in Chatswood and a red that heads Eastbound on Mona Vale road most days. I also spotted a Silver Eastbound on Mona Vale road a few days back. It's the first I've seen and I gotta say it looked damn good too.Still haven't seen a single Winning Blue though!

Saw a red one today coming back from the airport....SJE***. Think I've seen it before around Essendon way.....

 

saw a red 8 parked outside some bed retail store in Morley.

only seen two 8's in perth on the roads... and both of em are red.... excluding my own red :p

 

Saw a Yellow with rear spoiler NJP*** heading south over the Pine River Bridge this morning at around 7:10am. And a nice looking red one with strakes heading north on the Gateway around Boondall a couple of minutes later.

 

NickG that silver could of been me because i was lost around that area close to the date you mentiones

On friday i saw a Silver like mine on Epping road he was the first to give me thumbs up and i returned them

Then ten mins later a red on Victoria road crusing together for at least ten mins. no sign of friendliness from the driver.

Still the same drive was just off harris street where i saw 8A8Y 8 of course the hellos there followed by a phone call ( Sorry i could not talk long as a un marked police car was next to me )

At night in beverly hills saw a red as i was going around the roundabout big thumbs up there too..

Then you could of spotted my car outside of Beverly Hills Hotel on King Georges Road. Even saw the service manager there for the 8 :D

saw a winning blue, plates in RTA Blue... "RX8ME"

 

Saw my first Yellow.. on Cabramatta Rd turning right on to Cumberland HWY on monday 14th had a black rear wing on it any takers?

Spotted an absolutely filthy Silver one outside the local hairdressers this arvo.....Rego....ROTOR.....!
